People have been looking for excuses to eat desserts for their first meal ever since they were a kid. Why do you think a lot of our breakfast items are extremely sugar heavy? Pancakes with syrup, waffles with syrup, donuts, bagels with icings, cereal, etc. Adding a 'milkshake' in the mix isn't a big deal. It is hard to top adding a shite ton of sugar syrup to your breakfast items.

Agree. We grew up with shite like Carnation Instant Breakfast, which is essentially a milkshake.
