At work I usually get on a website called Big Brown Bear so that I can test myself.

I usually average between 70-85 WPM which is a significant gap but I always fall some where in that range.

My typing instructor from middle school would be proud I hope

quote:

The average person types between 38 and 40 words per minute -- between 190 and 200 characters per minute. However, professional typists type a lot faster on average -- upwards of 65 to 75 WPM.

Around that.

Depends on the keyboard.

A good flat keyboard is worth 20wpm.

Been a while since I've tested it but it's usually right around 100.

I can get over 120 when I'm very focused and going the absolute fastest I can but I'm ready to slump in my chair and exhale after a minute of typing like that.

I took a test last week and got 90WPM. That was looking back and forth at a moving document on the screen too. Typing from memory is even faster. I was surprised.

Best I ever got in HS was 40 WPM. I was proud. I doubt that I can top that now. I also make a ton of mistakes.
