From Patterson to Centerville and back on a Diamondback Viper. That hard seat turned my taint into ground meat.

Not far at all because I lived in a rural area.
Which is specifically why I live in a neighborhood in a city. I want my kids to be able to ride their bikes to friend's houses in the neighborhood (or adjacent neighborhoods). I couldn't jump on my bike and ride 10+ miles on a highway with a 55mph speed limit.
Wel lived parallel childhood lives. I grew up in a rural area with no friends my own age anywhere close. I don’t know that I would want my kids having the same experience. My childhood was great, but it definitely lacked certain social aspects a suburban environment would have offered.

As a kid, just a few blocks.
As an adult. 25 - 30 miles round trip on the levee.

It took 40 minutes to get to my girlfriends house by car and adults could never be bothered to take me.
I used our boat to get about half the distance to her house and walked the rest down dirt roads which took hours. When I got there she put on a bikini and we walked several more miles to a creek to go swimming. I don't recall my dumb arse even having a drink with me.
Most of the time I stayed within a few mile range. The boat was a game changer. I could take the boat to another town so basically my first car was a boat. Many yards got mowed by me collecting gas money for boat trips.

13 yo me rode from Grand Cane to Mansfield to finger bang a chick in her mothers pool house.
One of my older brothers recently told me that around 15 he would ride his bike 15ish miles to get hummers from some chick. Made me laugh, and wasn't surprised really.

Summer before I turned 16, I was riding 12 miles at least 4 days a week to hook up with this chick I was seeing. Then after 4-5 hours at her house I'd ride to my grandmothers house in the city 10 or so miles from there and my dad would pick me up there after work. He never asked any questions why I was riding there everyday until I stopped.

We rode all the neighborhoods in Harvey and Gretna along Lapalco.
The furthest was Harvey to Algiers. If we heard another neighborhood had BMX trails, we went to ride them.
