2308 miles.
Almost every time I've moved m, I've moved further away. But this about as far as it gets without leaving the country.

Thibodaux, LA born
Ocean Springs, MS live now
I have lived in MS, in some area, every day since age three when we moved to Columbus in 1990. This is the first time I have lived on the coast.

15 miles. About 30 mins with traffic. My brother lives a couple of blocks over from our childhood home. Always thought that was cool that his kids went to all the same schools we did and grew up with the kids of the friends we had growing up.

Military kid growing up (not too much moving around, but experienced drastically different cultures/areas) and now in the military myself.
Very thankful for the experiences I’ve had and places I’ve seen - places I never would have imagined loving so much otherwise.
I don’t really envy the people who never leave “home”, even with having kids now myself. Moving them & changing their schools after they get settled in has been the hardest thing to do so far in my life FWIW

I was born in CENLA when the family lived in Winnfield but we moved to Tampa while I was 2 years old. The longest I lived in one place before adulthood was 5 years so I really have no place "I grew up". Zero "childhood friends" or kids I grew up knowing.

90 miles. In 10 months I'm moving back to retire.

My oldest grandaughter came to live with me this year so she can finish school here instead of Louisiana. She's a gifted student, really involved in her school so this was kind of a shock.
She went home after spending summer here, and two days later decided she can no longer do it. Sometimes leaving is necessary.
