I was born in 52 and my parents lived in Arabi at the time. They moved into the Lower 9th Ward when I was about 2 from what I was told and grew up in that house on Dauphine St. between Caffin and Flood.

I've owned 3 houses in N.O. since then and now live in Mid-City which is probably no more than 7 miles from where I grew up as a kid.

I'm from Hillsdale, Michigan and I don't miss the winters and snow up there one bit. I'll take these Louisiana summers over Michigan winters any day. I would definitely have a different point of view if air conditioners didn't exist. I miss going to Canada.

Seven miles. Wish it was 500, but my Cajun husband doesn't want to leave.

Only a mile, grew up on the southside of Lafayette and I'm back. I used to live about 600 miles though.

275 miles from where I was born and grew up.

6400 miles from most of my relatives (it was always in the range of 6000 miles though).

Since I left home at 18 for college, I have been as far away as 1800 miles from where I grew up and as close as 75 miles.

This excludes my summers after my first two years of college, where I lived at home.

11 hour drive. Can’t really get there much faster by plane and a rental.
