Is TSA showing up for work during the shutdown?

If not, is it causing delays during security checks?

TIA

How is the OP a dumb post? If TSA agents are calling in "sick" due to the shutdown it is bound to cause delays in security checks and bad attitudes by the agents who do show up.

It's a perfectly legit question for him to ask IMO

I flew thurs and sunday. It wasn't any worse than normal far as I can tell.

I do think if I find myself flying more than 2-3 times a year I will buy a Clear Membership(New Biometric screening system 100xs faster than the regular line and pre-check).

I paid attention(not the $179 annual fee) to these lines at MSY and Denver and they were EMPTY.
Clear System

Don't bother. Too many dead bodies blocking the airport anyway

Some airports webpages give you an estimated wait time for security checks.

I flew out of Atlanta early this morning and it was heinous. I fly this route and time regularly .... The TSA precheck line was at least 300 ft out the entrance ... was at the plane 10 minutes prior to them shutting the door.

CLEAR was a disaster as well .... feels like the TSA agents are slow playing the process to make a statement and bring attention to the situation. Hard to blame them really.

Caught 2 flights last week and didn’t notice anything unusual. Lines seemed normal

I’ve flown and even checked bags with no issue in getting through security check points. I’m sure it’ll get worse though. A family friend I know has a son who’s a TSA agent at MSY and he called off twice last week to make some cash day laboring.

TSA is irrelevant, need private contractors. Airports below do not have TSA agents, unfortunately ATL is not on that list

Atlantic City International Airport
Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport
Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport
Dawson Community Airport
Glacier Park International Airport
Greater Rochester International Airport
Havre City-County Airport
Jackson Hole Airport
Kansas City International Airport
Key West International Airport
L. M. Clayton Airport
Orlando Sanford International Airport
Portsmouth International Airport
Punta Gorda Airport
Roswell International Air Center
San Francisco International Airport
Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport
Sidney-Richland Municipal Airport
Sioux Falls Regional Airport
Tupelo Regional Airport
Wokal Field/Glasgow International Airport
Yellowstone Airport

OHHHH. I didn't even think about that. Clear eliminates at least 2 TSA employees per shift if you think about it. They had two Clear Employees who were basically HS kids NOT TSA. They were recruiting people to sign up and pointed to the kiosks. Then TSA would let Clear members skip the line. I could see TSA folks NOT facilitating that process.
