Tell me you must live in one of those DSLD homes that might have one or two 10x10 patches of grass to cut. Baw I live in the eastern time zone. It's 9am here

I was just wondering.

My sister just bought one of those DSLD houses in Thibodaux, it is pretty much all house and no grass. There is maybe 10-15 feet separating the houses and a yard 20x30 behind the house and a few patches by the driveway. I could cut all of that in maybe a half hour or less. I also saw they had a Kobalt 40 volt yard set that came with a mower, weed eater, and a blower. I don’t know if it came with the house, or they bought not to wake up the neighbors or the HOA required it.

I felt claustrophobic in that neighborhood, I bet you could fart in your house and your neighbors could smell it inside their house. That is how close those houses are. I bet if one of them catches fire, the whole block will go with it.

8:30 is appropriate.

But you should also know your neighbors well enough to recognize if they tend to sleep in or if they tend to get up early on Saturdays.

House is centered on about a 6 acre square and the immediate neighbors all have similar. I don't care and wouldn't notice if they mowed at midnight.

7. If my neighbors are like me and everyone is good, I’d say we all mow at 6 if we wanted.

9:00 is considerate. However, I have an electric mower and it makes almost no noise so you could mow at 5:00 with one of those

Exactly. Deflecting from the fact that they are scared of heat by saying that people who can't wake up early are the real pussies.

I wake up around 630-7 on the weekend and there is no way I'd cut my yard before 9 AM. Can we all just agree to shut the frick up for a few hours in the morning? Why have we overloaded our lives so much that if you don't get the grass cut at 730 AM on a Saturday you will be behind schedule?

I’m an avid gardener and keep the yard looking good weather permitting. On the weekends anything before 8am is a little early.
Have some respect for the neighbors that may want to sleep in.

I like to use a 3:00 a.m. equality rule. For this. For every hour after 3:00 than I wait to cut grass I expect them to shut things down an hour earlier. If I don’t mind my neighbors keeping me up until 12:00 with loud music and having a party then I start cutting at 6:00. If I think 11:00 is appropriate time for my neighbor to stop playing drums and keeping me up then 7:00 is the grass cutting time. If I want my neighbors to start simmering down as early as 10:00 then I hAve to give equal quiet time in the morning and not start cutting grass until 8:00. If I am such an old curmudgeon that I want peace and quiet from my neighbor as early as 9:00, then I should not be cutting grass u til they are allowed to sleep in until 9:00.

Generally speaking 7:30-8:00 is not unreasonable to start cutting grass on a weekend in our neighborhood.

Do your neighbors know about this rule? Because if you have this rule and your neighbors don't know about it I can see some resentment growing.

Part of the heat issue is the fact tOT keeps their homes at just above freezing if you believe the posts.

Beats living in most apartments.

(About 100 out of 100 apartments in Louisiana)

Notable Exception-

Noise ordinance for Jefferson Parish is 0700 Mon-Sat, 0800 on Sunday. Do you know who's exempt from the noise ordinance? The motherfricking garbage men who pass my house at 4:45AM Tuesday and Friday. And have to compact their truck at the same time. I realize it's a shite job that nobody wants to do and the earlier they get started the less time they spend in the heat but damn give a brother another 30 minutes of sleep.

I mow as soon as the grass dries unless my neighbor is working nights. He usually let's me know and I mow in the evening since he's sleeping. I'm not fat so the heat doesn't bother me.

If you are awoken by a lawn mower then you were never asleep to begin with.

not true with me, although I don't care if someone wants to get a jump on their weekend chores
