I promise most OT guys are not moving enough weight to justify that long of a rest. 3 minutes is an absolute max. Anyone taking 5 minutes should be shot.
If you are squatting over 300lbs and benching over 250lbs on each, sure. Anything under that rest for 90 seconds or less. Your warm-up sets should only really be a minute and working sets go with a longer rest.
Other items, do not do OHP and DL in the squat rack. You can do those with any barbell on the floor.
Do not curl in the squat rack
RE-rack your weights as well.
It is OK to be considerate in public gyms.

True, but once again must OT peeps are not lifting that much over their head.
OHP is the weakest of lifts for everyone, thus usually lighter weight.
Heavy bench is the one exercise that really needs safety bars if working out solo.

Please do not be one of those annoying asses that take 3-5 minutes between sets. Nothing wrong with that, but at a public gym it is annoying as hell. Get a home gym for that.

Anybody that’s playing on their phone while sitting on a machine/bench/equipment that I’m waiting on will promptly be told to do their set or get the frick up.
