If by personality you mean game then sure. But ultimately if you are fat or skinny fat she will lose attraction as game can only take you so far. It's a good idea to stay in shape because a woman may be with you only because you are her best option at the moment but will branch swing the moment a better man comes along
Being as physically attractive as you can be also opens more doors to higher value women. If you are skinny fat or fat and out of shape most attractive women won't even give you the chance to show them your "personality" so your options are limited to lower value women. You have to get a foot in the door first and being as good looking and attractive as possible expands your possibilities
