You’re not a true Alpha unless, when YOU want to make a call to someone, you have your assistant call that person and, when she gets them on the line she says, “please hold for Mr. S.”

I used to answer with my company’s group name, then my first and last names. The caller would know they reached, for example: “Network Infrastructure Planning, Yew Kindewit”.

I usually answer with "Howdy!"

It lets them know I'm into butt stuff and have a deep throat.

Or at least I would if I had graduated from TAMU

I think this really depends on what you do for a living.

If you take calls from customers, it’s absolutely more professional. If you’re taking calls from coworkers or vendors, I don’t think people really care.
