How do we know that Corona is what killed these people?

Serious question....I’m ignorant on the subject.
Maybe they had Coronavirus but that isn’t what actually killed them
If so, would they report the death as part of the corona numbers?

There's an article out there someone where an ER doc describes what someone dying of COVID looks like. It's a tough read. I forget where I read it though. You basically drown in your own blood and mucous.

Do you really think this is happening often? And do you think that doctors are so dumb to not be able to tell whether a patient dies from a stroke or ARDS?

Dunno how it works in medical terms, but I'd bet it's similar to "but for" cause in legal terms. That is to say, someone would not have died in this instance but for the corona virus contributing to respiratory distress/failure.
