In 1999, I was racing dirt bikes and screwed up bad on the face of what was about a 60ft jump. I was going too fast and tried to scrub some speed. I landed about 10ft past the landing on my head and the bike bounced off of me. I was knocked out, broken collar bone, dislocated shoulder, post labrum tear in the same shoulder, 3 broken ribs, and a collapsed lung.
And again and freaking 41 years old I ate shite on the bike again. Didn't hit the ground quite as hard, but my body clearly can't take the impact as well as it used to. Didn't hit my head this time, but broke 7 ribs, collapsed lung, and had a hematoma on my kidney that was bleeding.

Shattered my hand knee boarding after wrapping the rope around my hand to swing out faster and forgetting to undo before going for a barrel roll. When the slack was gone, so was every bone in my hand.

Tore my ACL and meniscus wakeboarding. Got some sick air, but my weight came forward landing straight up with my knee locked. I knew it right away.

When I was 2, I pulled the cord of a pressure cooker and it flew off the shelf and blew up on me. My mom said it looked like I had been hit with napalm.

Oof. Thats kind of a freak accident. When I was on 85s I used to ride on the balls of my feet a lot. I came up short and cased a 60ft double, sprained the hell out of my right ankle. Always rode on the arch of my feet after that one.

When my kid was 2 she slammed a wooden Fisher Price telephone into my balls. It became very swollen and crushed a bunch of the man plumbing causing me to have a hydrocele requiring surgery. During the operation they drained approximately a quart of blood and other fluids out of my sack.

I've never had what I'd call a serious injury, but I've had more than my share of moderate injuries, mostly from being a big klutz. The gnarliest thing was an abscess in the palm of my hand that was lanced in a similar fashion to Stephen Dorff in The Gate. That and a corneal abrasion are definitely the 2 most painful things I've ever felt.

If I didn't have a sweater on, it would have probably run up my wrist and done more damage. I was alone and if that had happened there was a real chance I could have bled out. The sleeves saved me. I drove myself to the ER which was also not very fun.
This was the bit which is way too aggressive to be on a palm router. It was a stupid decision and I knew it before I even started.

Wakeskating…a wakeboard without bindings..,tried to jump wake to wake. Landed with 1 foot on the board. The board rotated causing a spiral fracture of the femur. Floated in the water for an hour holding the swim platform cause there was no f’n way to get back in the boat like that. Medics finally scooped me out of the lake. Intrafemoral rod installed. Can feel it just about every day.
