re: Coach openings ranked - Update - Arkansas drops again

Stanford and UCLA would be 1 and 2 if they could find it to care about football.
re: So Arkansas got tired of Texas and their 7 little bros, left the SWC and had it shut down.

Frank saw the future. The old SWC had no appeal when it came to TV contracts. There was Ark, Tex and A&M and then a bunch of nobodies. And Texas was going to control whatever future negotiations to the benefit of Texas and the Baylors and Rices would have just rolled over and let them do it. It was a dying league and Frank could see that.

Indiana has the money to match any offer. At 64 not sure he leaves to rebuild a program. He can win a NC at IU.

This is circular logic. The fact that they are allowed to march is a result of freedom to do so. Because there is no king.

Would not at all surprise me if this is exactly what these programs were coded to do. Makes it appear to oursiders that they are more advanced than they really are. Drives interest in company/program. Looks like they are free thinking but in reality are just executing code that is buried deep in the programming.

Leftover pork loin diced with onions and peppers on black stone for street tacos. Casamigos tequila on the rocks.

I graduated high school in the late 90’s. We had gang bangers that could not read but were bad dudes that could play football. They still got into JUCO. I can’t imagine the shenanigans of the 80’s and early 90’s.

Beckwith is a complete nut job who weaseled his way into politics.
re: Why did democrats change their tune on hospitals? (Re: health prices)
Posted by Sweet Pickles on 8/20/25 at 8:12 pm to HailHailtoMichigan!
It’s complicated. Medicaid (and Medicare) don’t reimburse enough to actually keep hospital doors open. Most hospital systems are operating at a 2-3% “profit” margin. That’s not enough to buy new CT machines, expand OR’s, etc. Both republicans and democrats allowed the provider taxes to occur so they would not have to do the dirty work of figuring out how to actually fund government health care programs.

It’s a great track. Have to make sure you play the correct tees for your group. There is a TON of sand in play off the tee boxes. I did not think it was brutally hard, it’s just much more target golf then what you would expect for a course that long. Really need to play it a couple of times to figure out where to hit it. And the other courses at the resort are dog shite.

Sanders is a clown but Rogan did not challenge him. Until he did. Roasted him on climate change then made him look like an utter fool talking about the media lawsuits.

Carly has been running the team for years. This is just a public announcement of what has been happening behind the scenes. God love Jim but he was a huge frick up.

Wish the kid all the best. You guys got a good one. Would have loved to have him back but once he declared his money and minutes were promised to others. Not sure how we could have made room for him without breaking promises to others.
re: Caddies of LIV golfers get paid too?
Posted by Sweet Pickles on 5/11/25 at 8:18 pm to i am dan
It’s an interesting question actually. PGA tour caddies get a percentage of the winnings. If I understand correctly the LIV “winnings” are not actually winnings. They are deducted from the amount the player signs for. Player X signs for $10 million. They have to then have $10 million in winnings prior to actually seeing another check. Therefore not sure how it would work with the caddies.

Lots of state universities already have caps. You just get around it by having the rest of the money come from the foundations.
re: Elon Musk: Robots will surpass good human surgeons within a few years

Robotic surgery has been a thing for almost 30 years. This is just the first competitor to challenge Intuitive. Not sure why Musk is pumping it. None of these are autonomous.
re: Lexus GX-550...Anyone on the board own a Lexus GX550?
Posted by Sweet Pickles on 4/17/25 at 7:46 am to FriscoTiger
Wife had a GX460. Hit a deer and totaled. Drove a midsized luxury SUV for a month while waiting to find a 550. Put a deposit down on one, drove 150 miles to test drive it. It’s a truck based SUV. Could not go back tot the truck base after driving a midsize SUV for a month. Loved the GX460 but you forget how they ride after not driving for a while. That’s a huge plus for some and a huge minus for others.
