How did this dog become such a feared Alpha Pack Leader ? He doesn't look like much

If they inserted some Dogo Argentinos, Pit Bulls, & Kangals into the pack I doubt Fluffy would be Top Dog for long

My large male is submissive to my female dog.
They determine a pecking order. In this case, she was here for years before we adopted him.

Alphas do alpha things.
Love this one. Shepherd backs off Doberman, but still looks to his person for permission to eat.
A well trained alpha.

Dogs are funny and theres a lot that goes into how the pecking order is established.
I know a couple that has a German Shepherd, a Cane Corso, an American Bully, and a standard poodle. The poodle is the unquestioned leader of the pack

Particularly hilarious in OP's video how the dane cowers as soon as the alpha starts trotting up

I had a min pin for a very long time. He was the most dominant dog I have ever come across. Huge dogs at the park were submissive to him constantly. I guess they see each other in a different way.

It's like you missed the cane corso damn near rolling over when he walked past.

German breeds are notorious for showing alpha behavior, sometimes repeated times of seemingly the same behavior.

Because he’s King Charles

just went back and watched, you're correct. Glanced real quick on first watch and he seemed abnormally large (which he still is compared to the others, but not Dane size)

We have a chiweenie that bosses the cats around.
...not all that surprising....
But, those same cats will bully our 40 pound pit mix

I had a pretty big aussie shepherd and a border collie that deferred to her, but the 9 pound cat was the ruler of the house and both of them knew it
