Hobby Town is the one that baffles me. Horrible location that services a hobby that has been its death throes since the 70s.

They actually expanded to that store in the mid 2000's. The old one was in the Village Square (where Walmart on College is now) and was a tiny strip mall shop. So those hobbys still must have some life left in them.

I was going to say that one of the reasons it lasted so long was their manager. She’s great. Known her since elementary school.

The radio control airplane hobby is big in Baton Rouge. They have an RC airport at BREC's Farr Park.

The Red Stick RC Club was founded in 1986 as a non-profit AMA sanctioned club. The club consists of a private group of modelers who build and fly all types of model aircraft. They have partnered with local boy scouts and LSU Engineering to help teach and promote flying.

The Baton Rouge RC Club in West Baton Rouge near Erwinville,LA. Welcome to our FB group. Come out and join us for some great RC fun! You have to have an aviation or RC flying interest to be admitted to this group. No potential members will be added to this group that do not have interest in RC airplanes, drones, photography of them, or any flying machines. This is only concerning the Facebook page. Not the Club itself.
We are an AMA approved flying site. We are a FRIA approved site. No Remote ID needed. We are outside of Baton Rouge on HWY 190 before Erwinville, LA. GPS location 30.503459,-91.349838. About 2 miles from State Capitol Raceway.
We are directly across the street from Tiger Trailer work park. Look for the Tiger Statue.
Look for the white sign with black letters right off of the hwy stating Kissner Field. Turn there and cross the tracks onto a gravel road and follow it until it dead ends at our field.
If you like building or just flying, it`s fun for all. We also welcome visitors who just want to learn about our hobby to our field.
Our club meetings are held every 1st Tuesday, of each month at Goodwood library at 6:30PM. The public is welcome. Please watch for our posts when we are going out. Weather permitting.
Thursday, Saturday and Sunday are the most popular days. Weather permitting.

I did not know that.....My buddies and I briefly got into RC aviation in college and used to fly over at a field off Burbank. I still get the itch to get back into it sometimes . Maybe when my kids are a little older Sorry OP for the de-rail.

Have you seen any sorority girl on a game day?

Anyone who opens a boot store near Sorority Row will make a fortune.

Safety boots... work buys me a pair up to $200ish every year.

All the construction and plant workers around will keep them in business.

When I be worked in a plant early mid 2000’s we had a $200 boot allowance to redwing, cavendets, or the traveling boot trailer that would come to the parking lot. If we went anywhere else the allowance was $150.

I still have several pairs of mine I got each year.
