quote:

MOSCOW Russian President Vladimir Putin submerged himself in freezing water in celebration of Epiphany, a holiday in Orthodox Christianity that celebrates Jesus’ baptism. The Associated Press reported that Russian TV stations and reporters were present as cameras caught Putin dunking and crossing himself in Lake Seliger in the northwestern region of Russia. The lake was frozen and a hole was cut into it so that Putin could take part in the tradition.

Boss baw shite right there!

And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

The Liturgical Calendar calls for journalist killings on the Feast of the Assumption.

The Russian Orthodox Church has always been pretty tight with the government going back to the insanely oppressive Tsarist days.

I see Vlad likes to stick to tradition.

I actually really like him, I have much respect for Russia. It’s one of the only countries I fear.

This sounds like a quote from Dwight Schrute

Mainstream media trying to report on religious events.
Jesus Baptism isn't the Epiphany, although the two are celebrated pretty closely some years.

Mostly atheists who can't be bothered to even click into an encyclopedia website. And we're supposed to believe them on everything else?
