Go to New Orleans during Southern Decadence. You'll see plenty of wrinkly asses in assless chaps.

Also, most of the elderly people alive now grew up during a time when it wasn't socially acceptable to be openly gay, so I imagine they're less "out" there.

I heard or read somewhere that their life expectancy is only like 50-60 years or something similar.

You've seen them before. You simply didn't know they were gay.

Well, first, you do. You're just not looking and the older ones are usually flaming because of their generational culture.

Secondly, a lot of gay people that are older are a lot more traditional and never came out of the closet in public (or at all).

You'll see lots of aging gays in a couple decades.

But have you ever noticed you don't see elderly gay men through television/movies or in real life?

I know several gay men in their 60's?

Seeing as how gays and lesbians make up under 4% of the population, and roughly 50% of people make it see 80, there just aren't going to be many of them around.

Have a great uncle who is gay ,but meeting him you would never know it. He is in his early 70's and he doesn't act like a ferry or have this need to flaunt his sexuality to everyone he meets. He dresses and acts like a man and not a typical effeminate gay man you would see in generation x or a millennial.

Because older people identified as men and women and they liked each other.

Ok, I can see the less flamboyant generation but why the underrepresentation in Hollywood? You showed the one movie poster but of the hundreds/thousands of gay portrayals in movies/TV, 99% of them are young, brash gay men.

This.

I live next door to a gay couple in their 50s. They are pretty normal.

Because Hollywood is a lie. Gay Men have always been around, and they age just like the rest. Most just don't make it the focal point of their lives.

We have the same uncle.

He's actually really old now, early 80's, and not doing very well. But growing up, he was the obligatory gay uncle. But you never would have known if not for guy living with him.
