MSY is a shite show for parking even everywhere offsite and including short term and long term. Everything was full.
Now this is the real story and I'm shocked the local media hasn't asked why MSY has a major parking issue right now especially when you have dozens of parking spots unoccupied on the 4th floor of the short term parking garage reserved for politicians. If you think the parking situation is bad now WAIT until the new airport opens! Parking will be 10000000000000000000000% worse than what it is now!

I like to leave my house an hour before the flight. Most times I still get to airport and through security...........
(Sorry couldn't think, plane overhead) in fifteen minutes.

That feeling that I will miss my flight causes me serious anxiety and stress.
So I will get to the airport at least 2 hours prior to my flight...maybe 2-3 if it is an international flight.
I love to read so give me a comfy spot to sit and some snacks and I can just hang out for hours and read on my Kindle and people watch until it's time to board. Even better if the terminal my flight leaves from has a decent restaurant/bar where I can sit at the bar and have a drink and some food while I wait.

I live on the edge.
35 min for btr, 1 hour for the large airports.
Because sitting, waiting at the gate is literally the worst thing in the world.
Literally.

BTR you can almost show up 30 mins before. MSY, 2 hours before because literally zero parking may be available. Last time out of NO, I had to park at a shady hotel on Williams.

Opposite for me. Stressing over if I'm gonna miss my flight feels worse to me. At least if I'm at the gate quietly waiting and reading..I'm not missing my flight.
I'm also more relaxed and ready to start my trip if I get to the airport earlier. If it's a trip for pleasure...who wants to start that off feeling rushed and frantic?

I agree with this, but I'm not one of those people who wide eyed and frantically run at a gate.
If I miss the flight, I miss it. But I never do...
Except once

For the airport I always try to get there with as little time as possible left. Unless it's an international flight

2 hours. I don’t like getting in a big hurry or stressing out about stuff. That, and I always enjoy some time in the airport. Have a couple beers and relax a bit.

2 hours at ATL with family
1hr 30 flying business
Enough time to get through a backed up security line and to the gate without any rush, I enjoy people watching in the terminal though

Leave my house hour and a half before boarding. Get to CLT about an hour before boarding. It has never taken me more than 45 minutes to get through security and grab a coffee or bite to eat. Although, I generally avoid known busy flying days or weeks.

Depends on the time of week at ATL. Friday nights, 1.5 hour minimum. I’ve gotten there 20 min before takeoff on a Thursday and made it.

It’s not just security at the airport I worry about, I’m concerned about an accident causing a delay on the way there. I always aim to arrive 2 hours before, so even if I’m delayed as hell I’m still good.

I have clear and tsa ? so 20-30 minutes before depending on which terminal I'm flying out of.

Depends on airport, day and time I travel. I have TSA but even better is being able to skip to the front of the line with Priority Boarding.
Even with that I get there 90 minutes before and people watch. 60 minutes would be enough.

All depends on the airport. But if I’m not checking a bag and have precheck, I’m parking about 40 minutes before my flight at an airport like MSY.
