(South) Carolina, will probably be denied.
If it was California or some east coast utopia, she'd be released with a stipend for a down payment on a new home.

Dena Schlosser cut off her 10 month old daughter's arms and she got out of jail for a while. She's in a mental hospital now.
Eric Smith killed a four year old kid when he was 13, he's out now, married and living in New York.
Dedrick Owens shot and killed a classmate when he was six. No one involved is currently in jail.
Melissa Drexler had a baby at her senior prom, suffocated it, put it in a trash can and returned to her prom. She isn't in jail.
I would bet that Susan smith is out of prison before 2030.

I know it's really cliche but now that I have small kids I read these stories completely differently
It's almost a sense of physical pain, hard to describe. I just can't imagine.
One person I consider the biggest piece of evil shite I've heard of is Chris Watts, who killed his wife, daughters and unborn child and disposed of the bodies in crude oil tanks at a o&g surface facility. That story hit me hard because I had kids that age when it happened.
Really impossible for me to comprehend that.

The fact that tax dollars are:
1) Being spent to keep her alive in jail.
2) Being spent for attorneys/judges to even spend a minute of their time going over her case having even the 0.0000001% chance of her getting out on parole.
Pisses me off...
She cheated on husband, killed 2 babies (her own babies), blamed a black man for doing this thinking it would work, lied to the public, has been a problem in jail.
She crosses all the boxes for "shittiest human being alive" award..

Melissa Drexler and Susan Smith are in different categories. It's weird that I even justify any of this demonic behavior now that im typing it out but here we are...

As her story began to unravel, Smith admitted that there was no carjacker, and that she had let her car roll into a lake with Michael, 3, and Alex, 14 months, still strapped into their car seats. Authorities said she committed the murders because she was secretly dating a man who didn't want children.
Yeah idk how they missed the death penalty.
This isn’t even like the lady who had 6 kids and insane post pardon psychosis.
Like others have said, stories like this hit you like a brick if you have kids.
there is no one easier to empathize with than someone who has had their children taken away, and doing something like this to your own children is unimaginable.
this woman definitly has some kind of personality disorder, but those don’t get better. She shouldn’t be breathing air right now.

In popular culture
The season three premiere of Arrested Development ("The Cabin Show") features a flashback scene in which Lucille Bluth (Jessica Walter), having recently gone off her postpartum medication, is watching a news story about Smith, and says, "Good for her!"— much to the concern of her son Buster (Tony Hale). The end of the episode features Lucille walking away from her car, with Buster asleep in the back seat as it rolls into a nearby body of water.

She's never gonna get parole.
I generally agree but never say never.
They just let Leslie Van Houten out and she was facing death penalty when she was convicted.
She had decades of parole denials but she's out today.

I'm agreeing with you, but I'm just showing you how shitty our judicial system is. If you murder someone, for really no reason at all, you should rot in prison. You get these lawyers cutting deals thinking 30 years is a lifetime and then all of a sudden, she's up for parole and now the ex husband, his family, her family have to go through this whole ordeal again.

She was sentenced with the possibility of parole after 30 years. If she meets the terms of the sentence and incarceration, she gets the chance. She wasn't mentally okay. Her step father, a leader in the state GOP and Christian Coalition, was diddling her up until 6 months before the murders, her birth father committed suicide when she was 13, she tried suicide shortly thereafter and several times between then and the murders.
I imagine that all of that played a part in the judge's sentence. On the other hand, as regrettable as what happened to her is, it's also a very good reason to protect society from her and her from herself by keeping her incarcerated at least a secure mental facility.
Who are these dudes lined up to date her? That's some freak kink flag shite.

Who's that chick from Houma that killed her two kids because she was pissed at her ex husband because he had a new girlfriend? She will never see the light of day.

Yea man, I'm in the same boat. my daughter will nine months this month and I can barely read these stories anymore.
Her ex-husband is quoted in the story and he's still living, all these years after his children were horribly murdered. Poor guy.
I don't see how he kept going. If my children were taken away from life, you wouldn't be hearing from me again. There's no way I could endure that, or would ever want to try.

What do you suggest they do with murderers then?

There shouldn't be plea deals in these situations. I can't imagine what the family has to go through.
