Because you’re a parochial retard who hasn’t traveled too far from where you were born.

At least you’re getting a slight insight into the fact that you’re ignorant. Maybe you’ll use this to further advance your education.

Painful that people from a “poor country” are much richer than you, isn’t it?

I’d take that bet. Only question is how much do you have to lose.

There’s a lot of people who live here that are going to those games. I know a few people from here who bought tickets to games in Houston and Dallas and bought a jersey of one of the teams they were watching.

Relax dude.

I’ve traveled plenty and haven’t lived in Louisiana (where I was born) for 10+ years. Most places are shitholes compared to America (yes, even Europe).

Soccer is a religion to a lot of these countries, and I can assure you they are spending way above their means to get to these games. That’s the point of this thread. I’m impressed more than anything

We are getting ripped off on everything here from food to drink to flights to healthcare etc

They have labor protections, free albeit bad healthcare, free college etc

For the avg working person you would be better off in a subset of European and even other nations.

I've been to South America. Specifically Argentina, 4 times.
I've been to both locations #1 and #3 in your pictures. I've spent most of my 18 year career with counterparts in BA.

Great people. Beautiful people. BUT...90% of their population is broke AF.

Cherry-picking postcard photos of Plaza de la República and Plaza Independencia (Montevideo) doesn't prove the average working person is financially comfortable in South America. Those are tourist landmarks, which is absolutely not representative of the income, purchasing power, or standard of living of the vast majority of their citizens.

Fly down to BA and drive in from the airport past the thousands of shitty arse apartment buildings most of their population lives in, to get to the example locations you posted, then report back to us.

That's a ridiculous sweeping claim with almost zero evidence behind it. The average American earns substantially more than the average European, lives in a larger home, has lower energy costs in many states, lower consumer taxes, and enjoys a far more dynamic job market. When they fly in for a conference or a workshop and I take them back to my home for dinner, most of my colleagues are absolutely blown away by what the Middle/Upper class working American's are able to afford.

sure sure...Europe does a few things better: public transit.... and more vacation time? but pretending the "average working person" is categorically better off in Europe than the United States of America ignores a fricking mountain of tradeoffs.

Absolute heresy on the eve of America's 250th birthday too. Do better.

Same reason BR’s median household income is $49k but LSU fans are known for traveling for their sporting events.

I specifically remember taking a subway type train (Subte?) from Catalinas Norte/Puerto Madero to Diagonal Norte (5 minute walk to his postcard of the Obelisk) and thinking to myself "this is subway is shitty AF and I'd feel safer anywhere in the US taking public transportation". Took a couple of pictures, met a friend, and ate some really bad Argentina verison of pizza.

The thing I remember most about the first trip I took down there was ordering a "beef meat pie" at a street vendor / shop near my hotel once to find chopped up boiled eggs and nearly raw onions in it. fricking gagged and threw that shite in the trash. Decided I'd stick to steak and wine (fantastic) going forward.

prove it. I'll wait.
"Better off" by what metric?
Income?
Disposable income?
Home ownership?
Square footage?
Upward mobility?
Consumer prices?
Taxes?
Energy costs?
Rights as a citizen born there?
Career opportunities?
Entrepreneurship opportunities?

it's "no one" as in two words.
Example: No one asked for that nonsense.

this is also projection. you certainly aren't talking about me.

Compared to who? Is that just your opinion, or is it something you can actually prove?

And what exactly do “dumb af Americans” do to prove your point that Europeans are better off? I work with half a dozen Europeans on a daily basis. They make good money for where they live, they’re brilliant, and I love working with them. But it's laughable to even compare to the quality of living for the middle to upper class here in the great U.S.A.

eta: and again, even suggesting such a thing on the eve of our 250th anniversery is real gross. Your grandparents would be disgusted by such talk.

Again, I’ll wait. Downvote away.

In poor countries, the rich people are fricking really, really rich…and probably get tickets/hotel rooms paid for by their governments.

The thing that. Makes the USA different is our large middle class.
