no really anything wrong with it per se, but i would not want to be dropped into BR in my mid 20's not knowing anyone.

It's been a few years since I've lived there. But New Orleans is the least cliquey City I've ever lived in.

But if you have to, join a clique. I got involved in a small parading Krewe, that did events throughout the year. I got involved because I'm a drummer. But depending on your talents, there are a lot of things to do.

Hell, join a coed kickball league, or something similar. You'll meet new people, and there's usually a lot of women.

Edit: saw the bulldog, and thought you meant igars instead of ivars, and thought Nola. I didn't know they had one in Baton Rouge.

I agree with this. It is super easy to meet acquaintances here. But, friendships are more difficult.

Try going out and carving a life out for yourself. Go out and have fun. Join a sports league.

My roommates used to butch about their social lives....but they stayed inside and played XBox with their free time.

It has a reputation as one of the most cliquey cities in the country. It's one of the few places where people still give a shite about where you went to high school.

Go to bars and get blackout drunk as fast as possible, as many nights of the week as you can handle.

If you can sustain this for 6 months, you will be one of the most popular people in Baton Rouge, guaranteed.
