If you need to tow 6000 lbs, you need to find yourself a used half ton, or a cheap mechanic. None of those are going to hold up to towing 6000 lbs regularly.

I towed close to 5000 with a 98 Tacoma that was rated at 5000. Not something I will ever do again.

If you only need a small truck, there's only one answer and it's the Tacoma.

I had to get a full size but I agree with you that they're huge.

F250 6.7 is the only answer here baw

If you want to haul a heavy load get a Chevy Silverado if you want to swallow a heavy load get a Ford.

Do you need a truck, or just a midsize for minimum hauling? If minimal, get a Santa Cruz, Ridgeline or Maverick.

Just went through this exercise and wound up with a Tacoma.

The Nissan wasn’t out yet, but it wouldn’t have been an option because it’s year one on a redesign.

The Colorado… I really didn’t like it.

The Ranger… better interior than the Tacoma. The turbo 4 felt great but I was leery of future issues. But the one thing that just threw me to a solid no was how bumpy it was. It would bounce at the slightest provocation.

The Tacoma has an odd transmission, gets worse mileage, and it is a shade more expensive (not by much bs a Ranger). But I know it will do what it needs to and it will last a good long time.

Put the Tacoma back in the options. It’s not that much more.

Screw those options, get the Ram TRX. I love driving around town getting 10 mpg.

If tou going to tow 6000 on the reg and want a midsize truck the only option is a Canyon or Colorado with the Diesel.

I would get a 1/2 ton gas, its going to be cheaper than a diesel midsize truck.

No first hand information but, I really like the looks of the new Nissan Frontier. The Colorado/Canyon would be a no for me.

So is everyone's. My ram is 20k higher than I paid for it.

Get the frontier, I've owned several of them over the years and the only reason I still don't is due to a third kid.

I prefer the way it rides and drives to everything in its class. Never had any mechanical issues with mine. I do not understand the Tacoma love at all.

In the same boat this past weekend. Test drove the Tacoma, Frontier, and Ranger. Easy decision to get the Ranger.

Sounds like you pull in to parking spots.
