The financial package at Ivy League and other top tier private schools is based on household income. So a kid may get in but graduate with six figures of debt. ...

We are in state, oldest currently at LSU as a presidents alumni scholarship winner. Sadly LSU only offers roughly 20 full paid academic scholarships per year for 7000 freshmen. He had plenty of choices out of state however he gets a hefty refund every semester. And if gradual school is considered i...

re: Would you fund your kid's IVY league education if you could?
Posted by Ladadof3 on 11/30/22 at 8:16 pm
Tough question, my son had similar plans. 35 on ACT, 2 perfect SAT subject tests. However he would have graduated with a sizable amount of student loans, so not exactly the question of if you could fund.
Also he plans on going to graduate school so why spend on undergrad. So he stayed in state, at...

re: College Savings questions for those living the reality now

Simple answer is yes. My son is at LSU because he won the Presidents alumni scholarship which is full cost of attendance. Otherwise the top scholarship is 4K plus TOPS - basically covers half the cost.
If you’re looking OOS don’t expect much regardless of ACT etc. Of course there are exceptions a...

re: Ford Rangers - are they worth a darn?

I certainly hope so. Just bought a 2021. The transmission in my old car went out, needed to find something fast.
Drove a 2019 Tacoma and 2022 Frontier. Liked the Ranger the most. ...

re: What is the best dog breed for young children?
Posted by Ladadof3 on 9/21/21 at 7:42 am
My 3 kids grew up boxers. They are known for how great they are with kids. Boxers are basically toddlers for life themselves, silly and goofy. But as someone mentioned they can have health problems. I’ve lost 2 way too early with cancer.
I currently have my 4th boxer and can’t imagine not getting ...

re: Putting my dog down in the morning, 15 years later
Posted by Ladadof3 on 8/12/21 at 11:28 pm
Very sorry. Incredibly tough decision to make. I don’t have any experience about other dogs being present but I’ve had to put 2 boxers down over the last several years. One 5.5 and the other 7.5 both due to cancer. Looking for the silver lining, your dog had a great full life.

Posted by Ladadof3 on 6/20/21 at 10:23 pm
We were on campus last weekend for orientation and they specifically said it’s not mandatory because it’s not FDA approved. My son still will not get when it is approved.
As of Friday 73% of faculty and 26% of students have been vaccinated ...
