2020 wasn't any better or worse than any other year. Thankfully, my job didn't shut down.

Well let’s see.,Covid outbreak that greatly stymied my income potential. Mother diagnosed with breast cancer 2 months ago. Uncle in the hospital on a respirator with Covid now. Sally wrecks my beach home (insured),,built a brand new pier and boathouse just 3 weeks before it hit (uninsurable). Found my boat 1/2 mile away in the middle of the road that was on national news. Then Zeta unleashes hell to months later at my home, downing trees on the house and my wifes car is totaled. House is still being worked on from that., My hunting cabin took significant damage from Zeta, trees fell on tractor, shed and busted the well to pieces.
Came home a week ago to water rushing through the ceiling. Hot water heater in the attic failed and flooded the Kitchen, den, hallway, so house is in complete disrepair and unlivable. Wife and kids are having to stay in a hotel. I tested positive for Covid Thursday and having to quarantine at the hunting cabin which is now just somewhat serviceable. BRING ON 2021 woohoo!!

It's been rough. My wife of 23 years( we were going through a divorce) passed away October 6. I got sick in September with what I thought was a severe sinus infection. After multiple visits to doctors I was just diagnosed with a tumor in my sinuses. I was scheduled for a biopsy 2 weeks ago but tested positive for covid 2 days prior to surgery. I've been asymptomatic the whole time but still had to wait 2 weeks.
Anyway, I have a retest this week and biopsy scheduled for this coming Friday.

Financially 2020 has been really good.
Personally it has been good also, my son graduated college and he has a good job, my daughter bought her first house and my wife is doing great
Lots of my friends have suffered though and I have lost 2 of them to Covid.

For me personally, 2020 hasn’t been bad at all. One of the good things to come out of this pandemic has been full-time telework.

Made more money than I have ever made. And bought a new boat

I appreciate it but don’t be. There are a lot of blessings hidden in the worst situations if we just trust. It’s been really tough but I’m ok

This is what happened in the 70's. Economy sucks? Everyone partied.

Not bad. I had to cancel a huge 3 month long trip in my rv to the West Coast. I am retired, so no money issues.

I sold my company in 2017 and signed a non-com agreement that expired in Aug. I'm sort of in limbo right now with the lockdowns and have fallen into managing some commercial properties that I had invested in, along with occasionally teaching some oilfield safety certification classes. I'm comfortably treading water financially but not really sure what my next move is. The worst part by far has been losing two longtime friends to overdoses.

I've been working as much or more as I ever have. Great on that front.
The whole social aspect for the family has been taking a big hit.
I was at the doctor for a wellness check and asked when she thought it would be back to normal and she said not until 2022.

I'm a bigger a-hole than ever! Thanks, 2020.
