where are people paying $650 a month for daycare?

Two things:

A. this was clearly just a hypothetical the amount could've been any number

B. In Lafayette, LA that's roughly the going rate, though I haven't been impressed with any of them

Yeah, but you probably will get the luxury of sending them to public schools. We don't have the luxury here. It costs me roughly $3500/month to send my two kids to school.

7 year loans bruh. That's how they are buying them. It's a terrible thing but it makes it possible

We did one for a long time frame like this at 0% back when rates were low. Will keep it 10 years easy. Compared to the rates for buying used this was a no brainer.

You wouldn't send your kids to inner city HISD schools either. You'd move to the burbs.

Infinity is about to come out with new body style for the QX80s this fall. Just wait 6 months and all the people will be trading in their old body styles for the new body style. You'll be able to get a 2022 30k mile QX80 in the $40k range.

Yep, that's actually the going rate for our area. $20-25/day. Granted, most of these women are stay at home moms anyway and their husbands work away.

Two car seats fit great in a Camry.

Nah. I'm not letting my wife and kids drive around in a car with all the huge poorly driven SUV's on the road these days. It's just a safety/comfort thing.

We are good with mid-sized affordable SUVs.

My sister had one of those and it was not a good vehicle. Paint peeled off in record time. Maybe 2018sh model she bought new.

Vehicle prices are indeed quite insane but thats due to buying trends. Everyone opting for higher luxury grade trims. Larger touchscreens with better interface. Electronically adjustable seats in 3rd row. Collision avoidance tech. It increases comfortability, safety, and driving pleasure but it all equates to higher price tag.

Unfortunately for OP he missed the 0% financing Ford offered a while back. Got a mid level trim Expedition for $56k.

People don’t need bigger vehicles for the
most part. Just reduce the crap you lug around. I lost that argument with my wife so now we have the third row vehicle

80%+ of people who drive trucks do not need trucks.

Close.

LINK - You don't need a full-size picku truck, you need a cowboy costume

quote:

So what do people actually like about trucks? According to Edwards, the answer is counterintuitive. Truck drivers use their trucks very much like other car owners: for commuting to and from work, presumably alone. The thing that most distinguishes truck owners from those of other vehicles is their sheer love of driving. “The highest indexed use among truck owners is pleasure driving,” says Edwards. Truck drivers use their vehicles this way fully twice as often as the industry average. “This is the freedom that trucks offer,” says Edwards.

quote:

Truck owners might protest that they are slightly less likely than owners of other categories to use their vehicle as primary transport (83% vs. 95%), limiting the miles and gallons. And they might also protest that trucks provide capabilities that other vehicles lack. But, as it turns out, a significant portion of truck owners never use their trucks for these capabilities. According to Edwards’ data, 75 percent of truck owners use their truck for towing one time a year or less (meaning, never). Nearly 70 percent of truck owners go off-road one time a year or less. And a full 35 percent of truck owners use their truck for hauling—putting something in the bed, its ostensible raison d’être—once a year or less.

You don't need a truck. Stop LARPing as a blue collar baw when you are a desk jockey.

Quit being a twat. If people want trucks, it shouldn’t get your panties in a knot.

I'm a white collar desk jockey and drive a truck.
I rarely tow anything but use the bed a ton. I'll never drive anything else as long as I can afford them.

I am a well known truck and vehicle hater on this board.

Sorry the research triggered you.

The point still remains that most people over consume on vehicles and that is bad for them financially and bad for the community as these bro-dozers are dangerous and killing us.

I'll drive what I can afford, and I can afford my 10 year old paid for truck at the moment. The biggest thing is, I don't need until I need it, then I'm glad I have it. It's been useful far too often more me to go rent a uhaul pickup or find a friend who has one.
