Anyone see that large circle in the roadway? Well its called a Traffic Circle and people from New Orleans aren't used to traffic circles when they drive. What this means is that everyone should expect fender benders at that traffic circle starting on Day 1 of this place opening.
Enterprising plaintiffs attorneys will camp out there and hand out business cards

Its laughable that it's even being dangled in 2019, more like 2029.

Entrance to both onsite parking garages require driving through the traffic circle to the "arrivals" side (east side) of the terminal.
if you plan to park in the garage pay attention to signage for the entrance, because if you miss it you have to drive back to the traffic circle and start over.

They need to add a lane from Loyola to veterans to very rid of that everyday bottleneck.
They tore down the firehouse in kenner to add a few lanes to Loyola before the airport.

I swear on initial plans it showed Bainbridge being the road in for arrivals.
Could have used veterans from the Williams exit to access it.
There is a road there but supposedly it will be for the shuttles.

When do you guys seriously think it will be opened up? This year?
Posted on 10/21/19 at 3:48 pm to Janky
They announced its opening in a couple weeks

There was nothing wrong with the old airport

Instead they opted for a clusterfrick with a traffic circle.

Also, why the hell not just buy out ALL of that shitty property (that's just some slum housing and cheap warehouses), located south of that canal and basically abutting the new terminal? The cost of that entire tract would have been a tiny drop in the bucket of the overall cost of this boondoggle.
And have them call Mitch a racist? No way.

Drove by there today and there are major sections of the access road unfinished.
All the media reports say that only one small part of the road was unfinished, and that was where AT&T had to dig out a box, and that was now done, so the road should be finished shortly.
If not, the city can just fashion a little bridge over that spot, using some crane steel.

So they should buy the property they don't need so they can spend even more money by demo'ing the structures and then maintaining the unneeded land forever? That makes no sense.

I can't for the life of me figure out the purpose of that thing in looking at this picture.
I hereby officially name the traffic circle the Circle Jerk

This brand new road is definitely going to withstand heavy traffic too. I mean they are blacktopping it

Well they could’ve already built infrastructure needed for getting on and off the interstate. This entire project has been a shitshow and Landrieu just wanted it rushed so that he could add it to his failed tenure. I fly out of Atlantic 2-3 times a month and it’s going to be clusterfrick. Imagine how much traffic is on i10E in morning for people coming in from Destrehan/Laplace for work and then i10W when leaving and ADD AIRPORT TRAFFIC ON A TWO LANE EXIT.
