Ah ha! You just took down a common complaint about Houston.

Unfortunately, there is no way you're telling the truth.

I swear I'm telling the truth

I couldn't believe it. Dinner was at 6:00 and that's what time I anticipated getting there. It was an anomaly.

I do take issue with a dumbfrick who claims that there are trucknuts everywhere and crime is so out of control that it is unbearable, when in fact the area where he lives is better than his beloved Austin.

Listen up frickwad, you don't have a clue as to what you're talking about. I've lived in both areas, i know the differences first hand. You're probably still holed up in a 40 year old double wide in Livingston Parish.

I don't know why you're so defensive and pissed off over a subject you know nothing about. I also don't give a shite if you have a problem with me. Obviously, you must be one of those oli field baws I was referring to. Have you polished your truck nuts lately?

Look at the crime rating for Houston in the link to provided. You're proving your own ignorance.

Honestly, I do like the immediate area. However, there's a significant amount of crime happening way too close for comfort. I live in a gated community and still feel the need to have security cameras. That was never a thought in my mind when I was in Austin.
There's constant break ins, robberies, drug bust, shootings, you name it. Just this morning I saw posted in our neighborhood group that a van pulled up to some kids walking to school trying to lure them in. That was in the front of our neighborhood, a mile away from my house. Yes, it can happen anywhere but I've never seen things happen as frequently or as close to home as I've seen since living here.
That's my number 1 hangup with Houston. That and it rains every damn day.

Do you live in The Woodlands, or near it? Because I don't hear any of this shite and my wife worked for community relations for The Woodlands and is still always tied into all that. One of her jobs was monitoring social media for issues just like that and she still keeps up with it even though it's not her job.

90% of the bull shite about all the crime was highly exaggerated. For instance, I've talked to multiple people who bring up all the "attacks" on the wooded walking paths. Rumors spreading like wildfire about how prevalent these attacks are becoming. Well, she contacts the sheriff's office and there's been 1 report in the previous year or two and they are pretty sure the girl made it up. Yet that one story turned into like 15 different incidents.

I live in the woodlands. I run late at night and early in the morning. I'm mostly scared of deer.

Added Dallas to that area vibes thing. 1 point higher than Houston, but equal or lower grades in every category.

LINK

Also added BR and NOLA for fun.

Can't trust that site when it gives both Houston and Dallas a D for employment

Houston when Deshaun Watson is healthy? They do have the better defense so I say with DW, Houston wins..

I'm in Sterling Ridge.....love it.

It is pretty stark with the difference between the west side vs east side on crime. That said, MoCo sheriffs are pretty vigilant.

Place is light years better than, say, Sugar Land.

The lies...did you actually visit Houston or one of the outer cities like pearland and claim it houston? Houston's a melting pot, so for it to not have character would be a bold statement.

I was actually in Houston. Much of the "character" is manufactured, and much of the city as you're driving through is nondescript office buildings, strip malls, apartment buildings, and the like all randomly thrown together. Are there areas that have some legitimate character? Sure...it's a huge city. I'm just saying that as a passing through visitor of both Houston and Dallas, Houston did not impress.

Houston’s economy is so dependent on O&G. That’s the biggest negative relative to Dallas.

yeah, i don't know what part of The Woodlands he frequents, but I don't see hardly any of that in Spring / Woodlands.

Our NextDoor page sends out a 5 Alarm Notice and calls the sheriff if there's a sketchy dude selling shite door to door.

Last week I had 3 people I had never even met call me asking if my vizsla was loose from our backyard, because they spotted a loose one in the neighborhood.
"Nope, not mine, she's inside today. But nice to meet you and thanks for thinking of us"

Lived in both. Dallas better by far. I'm in the process of moving back to Dallas from western North Carolina.

Anyone pretending any of the sprawl cities (Houston, Atlanta, Dallas, Phoenix) are powerhouses when it comes to authentic character are just being ridiculous

Atlanta has arguably the best historical basis for it, but even here we largely manufacture our grit and character. That's not to say that stuff isn't nice to have, or that they're bad places to live, I just have a hard time seeing anyone getting jazzed about spending time in any of those cities for the city alone.

Dallas is by far more aesthetically pleasing and makes the better first impression, which is probably part of the difference for you.

I live in The Woodlands, because most of Houston is a shithole. The Woodlands is no utopian place as residents want you to believe. This joint is run by crooked cowboys in county government and Mexican Nationals. I don't speak spanish, will not speak spanish, so I will never conform to north Mexico, AKA Houston. Only good thing about Houston, that I have found, is...

still thinking...

a decent economy to make an alright living for the family, and one day retire to a better place.

YOU STUPID frick

Your first post in this thread: Full of shite.

quote:

I can't speak on Dallas, but I can tell you Houston is complete shite. It possesses everything I hated about Baton Rouge, only on a much larger scale. Crime out of the arse, everything surrounded by ghettos, people are dicks, oil field trash everywhere with truck nuts, rains every damn day. I hate it here and can't wait to leave, and I live in one of the better areas.

Another post: Full of shite

quote:

I'm in the Woodlands. There's O&G offices on every other corner around here and Exxon is bringing in more.

Yet another load of bullshite:

You are so full of shite.

Now if you want to start making comparisons, you probably have never been outside of your trailer in livingston parish.

You also claimed to have driven more than 30 miles for a dinner at 5:00 and made it in 22 minutes. Yeah keep believing your stupid bullshite.

Dumbfrick. Keep sucking on truck nuts
