Great news.

They frick the vendors by not paying their bills on time and renegotiate to bring bring prices down because they aren't making any money.

Whatever new tax bracket you fall in, which will be higher due to the $100k.

Sounds like ATP oil&Gas. Gave every employee a new Volvo as a bonus. Was bankrupt 5 years later, though...

You know there are employees who wanted to turn it down because they don't want to be in a higher tax bracket. These are the same people that think getting a raise is a bad thing for taxes.

That was months ago and for I believe a 5 year period

I'll keep my 20% per year

The article said they still get other bonuses so it's not like they only got $100K for all 5 years. This was just a bonus for reaching a set 5-year goal.

Oh I understand. People are suspicious of bonuses because most payroll programs tax them as if they can expect the same check for every pay period for the year, so it appears you're taxed into oblivion, but it is no different than traditional income when it comes time to actually file your taxes.

A ton.

Employees never understand this.

This money may have moved you into a higher bracket and all your income will be taxed at that rate.
