I've seen some articles quoting local officials as saying it's (the flooding anyway) worse than Harvey.

Good luck out there.

Westside at BW8 and Tanner, Clay, Gessner roads completely flooded and small cars unable to pass thru, had to take backroads in high water to get back to office.

I'm chilling in the FBC. Steady drizzle here and we are about to get some heavy stuff in the next hour or two. We got a lot on Tuesday but no flooding here.

I'm sorry, is this map indicating an area of 50-60 inches of rain?

With widespread 32-40 in totals?

The guys at Space City Weather just said Houston was getting rainfall rates of 4-5 in an hour in some places.

Is there a river or something near there that overflowed? is that an underpass?

This isn't accurate. Harvey was far more widespread. There may be certain areas who got lucky during Harvey that are getting it worse now, but I got it bad in Harvey and so far we are OK in Fort bend.

This rain event is nowhere near Harvey which dumped 40 inches in some areas

I'm in La Porte. Raining hard here but I don't see any flooding yet. I won't be able to drive back to Gonzales this evening like I wanted to. I doubt tomorrow either. Sucks.

Some areas have already gotten that and more. Guy on the nws Lake Charles briefing said at 10:30 orange has gotten 42 inches and could be looking at as much as 10 more.

Some are definitely seeing those totals with this event.

The whole, "Is this worse than....." is completely subjective.

For many this will be worse.

Those who don’t mind putting yourself in danger to go take flood pics for the OT would be greatly appreciated. I love destruction pics.

Yes in SOME areas. The flooding in homes was far more widespread in Harvey. 4 straight days of pounding rain over a much larger area.
