Have you ever worked in a hospital? Every year ER’s and hospitals brace for flu, pneumonia, COPD exacerabations during the winter months. COVID-19 is not comparable to the annual “busy season.” This is not Winter. Normally hospitals are less busy in the summer months. This is not going away.
Your carefully prepared list is meaningless..

Yeah!
You tell em Karen!
quote:This is false. The heat and more people being outdoors provides its own issues requiring hospitalization. Adding 1000 people to that total isn’t easy. No one is saying that. But it’s not like hospitals being full is anything new. Never has been.

I've been working in hospitals for 10 years. Not a long time, but that time span covers all of the articles posted. We've never been as overwhelmed as we are right now. It's different everywhere though.

Herd immunity hasn’t Happened anywhere on the earth so just stop with the assertion that it will.
It’s a myth as far as we all know
The only difference this coming flu season will be the fact that responsible people will avoid groups, wear masks and wash hands more than last flu season.
Those 3 things Alone will improve the caseload

Hospitals want to stay full/overwhelmed. Otherwise, they lose money.

Louisiana doesn't keep accurate stats for flu but Texas does and on average 10,000 lab test confirmed flu deaths annually.
