Do a tour of the coast:

Part one - Drive to Destin, 30A, or Panama City. Stay at a $150/night hotel, walk the beach, eat some food, have sex a few times.

Part two - Drive to Suwanee State Park. Camp or stay at a nearby hotel. Go hiking for a day. Maybe canoe if available.

Part three - Drive to Tampa. Stay in Clearwater. Go to Busch Gardens.

Part four - Drive to Orlando. Pick a Disney Park and go for the day.

Part five - Drive to Miami. Hit the beach where the weather could be fairly warm. Maybe go as far south as the Keys.

Part six - You could fly home from Miami or if you still have time and the desire, drive to Daytona. At this point, you'll have been gone though for 6 days and may just want to fly home.

I'm sorry, but that is a HUGE chunk of your vacation spent in the car. And waking up early so you still have time to do stuff at each destination since you're only there one day. Yuck

I can't imagine how tired I'd be if I was waking up early to move on to a new city every single day and then I had to walk around Disney or Busch Gardens and then wake up early again the next day.

Not saying a tour of the coast wouldn't be fun. But in 6 days? No way.

And a road trip for a honeymoon? No thanks.

What's so different about a honeymoon that it can't be a road trip?

I have a friend who got married in May and did a road trip of the east coast. Went through Charleston, Virginia, New York City, Boston, and spent three nights in a cabin on the coast of Maine. Raved about how much fun they had.

You can go on a honeymoon for $2k if you do something other than fly out to a resort.

Well the OP explicitly was looking for a beach in a different country. Then you say "You can do it but.... unattainable." Another way of saying that is "you can do it, but you can't." Doesn't exactly make sense.

I just want to know if it's possible to go to a beach in another country (safe area of course) for 2k or less.

Just answer the question people.

Driving several hours a day isn't relaxing for starters.

Good for them. I enjoyed sipping on drinks and have sex all day and not worrying about driving for a week. I raved about mine as well.

I already rephrased what I meant for you and apologized for the confusing and inaccurate statement.

Or did you plan on spending today harping on my comment that was meant to help a guy looking for a way to spend his honeymoon for $2k or less?

If you can afford to spend more....why wouldn't you for your honeymoon.

You only get one honeymoon, go all out for it.

If you're a Costco member you can book vacations through them and save a lot of money; airfare and transpiration to and from the airport are usually included within the price.

I came here because this is the exact problem I'm running into... and this post saved me! Thanks!

$2,000 isn't a magic number; just looking for a cheaper honeymoon.

Have you checked out Carnival Cruises out of NOLA? You should be able to do a week for a couple on one of those for that.

After paying for food, drinks, things to do? I don't think so.

$400 round trip to Costa Rica! I may be able to come in close to $2000!

Thanks for the feedback OT. I'll be visiting a lot of websites soon, ha.

Yeah, just did the stops on Google maps.

Day 1: 5 hours from BR to Destin.

Day 2: 3.5 hours from Destin to Suwanee

Day 3: 3 hours from Suwaneee to Tampa

Day 4: 1 hour and 17 minutes from Tampa to Orlando

Day 5: 3.5 hours from Orlando to Miami

Day 6: 3 hours and 45 minutes from Miami to Daytona Beach

I am not really into the idea of a lay-around honeymoon either, but holy shite! I'd come home completely exhausted.

Call me trashy, but I just got back a full week at Live Aqua in cancun with round trip non-stop airfare from Nola for 3000 for the both of us. That was booked using hotwire, so a bit of a gamble but I was 99 percent sure I was getting live aqua. If you accepted a lower end all-inclusive or went less than a week, you could get under 2.
