Had a 2013 5.7L “Hemi”
Put 250k miles on it
Best truck I’ve ever owned
Wouldn’t touch the pentastar motor though. Also heard the 2500 is shite

I bought a new RAM 1500 back in 2014 and kept it until 2020. When I bought it, I honestly thought I'd have issues with it. It was rock solid though and is still the smoothest riding truck I've ever owned.
I only had 2 complaints about it.
1. It was the worst quality paint I've had on any new vehicle I've ever owned. I swear you could look at it and leave a mark in the paint.
2. It handled terribly when pulling my 7x16 enclosed trailer. It would bind up the rear suspension and beat the piss out of you. I hauled it down a gravel road and seriously couldn't go over 15mph or the rear end would start skating over the bumps.
First time I drove down that road with my current truck and the trailer, I couldn't believe the difference.
Hopefully the newer gens are better.

My 23 5.7 has been nothing but solid. The person that signed off on the oil filter placement can go straight to hell though.

2019 1500 Rebel with ~130k miles on it and no issues whatsoever. It’s driven across the entire country and smooth as silk.

I was told the Hemi V8 was discontinued after '23 or '24(?).
Nah, I traded in a 24 V8 with a supercharger 4 months ago.

I’d never buy a naturally aspirated V6 but I rented a Ram a while back with the V6 and I was surprised at how smooth and peppy it was.

I have a 2020 Rebel with all the options. Air suspension is great and I haven't had any issues with it. 85k miles and no issues yet on anything. No less reliable than our Toyotas and Hondas we have owned. Gas mileage sucks on the Hemi but who cares as gas is cheap. This is the longest I have ever kept a vehicle (5 years) so i'd say that is a glowing endorsement.

My workplace had a 6 cyl. that did not do a lot of heavy hauling and it was a great vehicle that saw very high mileage.

I have owned GMC trucks for a while
I test drove a RAM 2500 the other day and it drove really nice.
The internet tells me that they are bad, but all of the owners I have talked to love theirs

I owned a 2022 Ram 1500 Laramie 4x4 and the rear end went out at 37,000 miles. the repair took 14 days and never felt right so I traded it in 5 days later. The ride quality and interior features were great. the radio sync sucked. I really liked my truck until the rear end issues. If it had been repaired correctly, I may still be driving it. I traded it and went with a vehicle built pre-covid and supply issues

They're the best value on the market right now, easily, if you avoid all the higher trim frilly bullshite like 4 corner air suspension.

Despite the hate they get Ram makes some good trucks. I don't know about the new engines but the 5.7 HEMI is solid as long as you take care of it. It's not cheap to change 16 spark plugs but they are some good engines.

Ram may be as a good of a truck as Ford, GM, etc, but the Dodge predecessor was so terrible, it still suffers.
You can buy them new cheaper than the others, and they dont hold value as well.
Consumers have a long memory.

I did a ton of research and test drove about every model you could before I bought a Ram 1500 Bighorn. I bought a certified pre owned one. Not sure what other posters are saying about holding value. I’ve never seen a Ram priced cheap anywhere.
The only issue I had and it was major is that my engine suffered from the dreaded “hemi tick” due to a cam/lifter failure. Thankfully my warranty gave me a brand new Ram engine for the trouble. All it cost me $150.
The Ram was by far the quietest and smoothest ride of all the trucks, my other consideration was an F150 Lariat. The Ram was far and away better. The only other issue I had was some tire pressure sensors failing, but that was a cheap and easy fix.
All truck have their issues. F150s just seemed to be cheaply made imo. Unless you were looking at a Platinum version, it wasn’t worth it.
Prior to that I did have a 2011 F150 which I loved. But if I had to choose again, I’d buy a Ram. I’d also make sure I get a good warranty with any of them

We have a 2020 Laramie with the 5.7. It's been a solid truck so far. Great interior, very comfortable, nice ride even without the air suspension.
Currently have just under 80k miles on it. Have had 2 issues, first was a leaky rear window which was fixed by a $12 tube of Permatex. Second the started died on us this spring; it cost about $600 to have replaced.
All in all it's been a nice truck. A lot of folks have take issue with the new inline turbo 6, but the few people I know that have one really seem to like them. My mechanic oddly prefers the Rams these days, especially ones with the 5.7. He says they are currently the most repairable trucks that come into the shop. Meaning parts availability, common issues are pretty well defined at this point and seem to have less fatal issues than others.
ETA: No that this truly means anything, but non-manufacturer warranty providers (like what Carmax offers) have the Ram priced lower than other brands currently. So it seems their estimates would say that fixing them is cheaper and less common than other truck brands.
