Sure if it was 2 years, fine protect the squatting POS. But if it was truly days, that’s absurd.

There are already laws penalizing assault.

Days after the departure of a previous tenant, Tim Arko pulled into the driveway of his house in desirable Decatur, where he suddenly encountered a stranger waving a gun in his face.
Can someone explain this one?

While the law is stupid no matter how long the timeframe is, I thought it had to be a pretty long time for squatters' "rights" to kick in, no?

THIS is clown world. This shite happens all the time and it doesn’t make any sense that people can break into someone else’s home and suddenly have rights. Or refuse to leave and not be forcibly removed. Squatter’s rights make no sense to me.

Too many people play around. Fox labs makes the pepper granades. I would clear the house.

Of course. Go get a CTC of your deed at the courthouse. Then call the Law over there.

I have said it once and I will say it again. If this ever happens to me I am going burn the house down. Blame will lie with who is living there. Insurance is in my name so I will get proceeds. Bonus will be if it is occupied while it burns.

First, its look like an area he should have gone into armed.

So if you own property that you rent out and squatter is living in there, if you go on your own property and they threaten you or put your life in danger you can shot them in self defense in Georgia right?

Isn't there some states where these assholes have some type of rights? I would think after that jackass pulled a gun on him and he got arrested, that he would go back armed and loaded.. Maybe recruit a friend or two to go with him kill that son of a bitch... in self defense of course..

Complete bullshite that the system is this far behind. The law does not favor landlords and these types of situations are the unfortunate by-product. But then you get those stories where a LL will switch off the heat in the wintertime to force out a tenant or some other shite like that. Situations can get messy.

Exactly, frick bullshite laws. There has to be away to take matters in your own hands and it doesn't result in the land owner going to jail.

There is no way in hell someone who decides to just take up residence somewhere, without paying and have any kind of rights. It should be a matter of verifying its your property and that they are not paying tenants.

If its a situation where the tenant is having their heat switched of, etc in order to get them out, that should be something that can be provide right? The tenant should keep their own records (I know if they pay in cash its not that easy), but no way this should happen to the owner.

And I would definitely support this, but the poor homeowner would then be in jail and the house probably gets re-occupied the next day.

Make sure you insurance is up to date make sure all legal avenues have been followed then drop a molotov cocktail or two through a window.
Hopefully you kill a few and you get insurance paid and you are rid of your problem.

You gotta do it smarter than this. As soon as the fire marshall rules it an arson, the very first person's arse they crawl up is the owner. Cell phone pings. Car computer pings. Ring doorbell cameras all over the place. Motive. Not only would he not get the ins money, he goes to jail, possibly for life if someone dies.

Things like flat tires and no AC (disco the outside breaker) and broken windows don't garner the kind of investigations that arson do, and makes people's lives miserable.

Do you know what squatting means? It wasn’t a home invasion.

Absolutely they should be evicted, but if you would kill unarmed people who were living on property you owned but didn’t occupy, two seconds after telling them to leave, then you need to seek help.

Oh, I'd seek help in prison. I'll be damned if some POS is going to take over my property and I'm at the mercy of the govt. frick that. I'd take back what's mine with force.

This country is gone. The only way we take it back is to take matters into our own hands because voting means nothing. Those people aren't in office to help America.

I’d turn off the water and the electricity. If I went to jail for it, so be it.

So what. It takes more than a couple of days to establish any kind of squatters rights.

Yeah, I have no issue with killing someone trying to steal a house
