What about a “renovation” that involves removing all the doors, etc.?

Also, what if you “leased” it to the Hells Angels for a few days?
Or anybody for that matter. Have a written lease showing possession before the cops are called…

A) I love OTers railing against journalists and then taking a NY Post article at its word. There are so many things in this article that just don’t jive with the “narrative” put out.

B) 2/3rds of the guys in here talking about how they are going to be laying down bodies if they were in this situation are going to the body in question.

C) you would think the libertarians that don’t believe in government would be all in for squatters. Of course these same libertarians are all about law when it helps them. They just don’t want to admit that a country without a functioning legal system and government isn’t exactly an utopian idyll. They just keep thinking they can live in isolated splendor on their island, not for a moment thinking about the infrastructure both seen and unseen around them that helps them keep it without having to literally fight for it every other day.

Doesn't just happen to rentals or vacation homes. People come home from vacation and squatters have taken over their "regular" home.
Happened recently to a female soldier on deployment if I remember correctly.

I have a simple question. Every state, well at least the southern states, have strict trespassing laws on the books. So how does squatting take precedence and usurp the initial act of trespassing? Some smart OT lawyer baw enlighten me please.

Not only trespassing, but breaking and entering.

I'm not a Libertarian, but I'm pretty sure they are for police and the legal system as far as protecting property and person from crime. I think you're way off here.

Personal friend of mine. She was not deployed. She had been stationed elsewhere and was renovating her home. Lost a pending sale because of it. Finally was able to evict the squatter.

Good for her. I remember her story and it was just infuriating.

I am not at all surprised that there are people here supporting the squatters.

Libertarians aren’t anarchists.
