Memorial stickers on their vehicle's back window is a black thing. Just curious if anyone has seen a white person do this?

You do realize that a person grieving the loss of a child does not give a shite about your feelings, right?
I’m not talking about feelings. I am talking about the law.
There is no difference legally between these memorials and dumping a bag of garbage out beside the road.

Man what a bunch of jaded buttheads.
I don't mind them at all. That's someone loved one that died right there. Around me most of them disappear after a little while. For example when a local high school kid had a wreck and died it stayed up for around a month or two. It was a nice spot for fellow students to drop flowers to remember their friend.
The ones that stay up longer usually are bringing awareness to something. A girl that got hit by a drunk driver while she walking on the sidewalk has been up a long time and I don't mind it.
Or when a cyclist gets hit by a driver, my community will put a white bike there and leave it to bring awareness.

"That memorial is littering and breaking the law!"

Your community is littering.
A cyclist typically hit while riding on a road he had no business being on, in my experience.
‘I’m going to ride my recumbent bike on this 4 lane through one of the busiest intersections hur dur’

That's why I would never ride a bike in Baton Rouge or South Louisiana. Y'all treat it as way more of an inconvenience and bitch about someone riding a bike way more then you should. Some even act like they are targets.
My community has a big cycling population. I see multiple people riding every day. Because it is more common we simply slow down 5 to 10 mph, give the rider at least 3 ft of space when passing, and go about our day. If that 10 to 20 seconds inconveniences that much and pisses you off then that's a you problem. Try to leave earlier so a minor setback doesn't make you road rage.

I agree. But leave it up for 1 year. Then that’s it.
Unless a car runs into and it flies through the air impaling someone. Then they sue the state and the taxpayers foot the bill.
has happened twice in Louisiana.

How is it different than littering?
I once saw someone open their car door and dump a box of fried chicken bones onto the pavement at Siegen & Airline in BR. A family box full of it- box included.
That's littering.
Seems different to me.

How gay do you need to be to care about a roadside memorial that has nothing to do with you. D you care if I put ketchup on my fries or dip them.

You ever lost a child?

I had a buddy who died in a car wreck.
Someone put up a memorial where he died.
His poor mom had to pass that spot every day on her way to work, and seeing that memorial upset her.
Knowing this, we removed it.
But someone kept on putting it back.
We had to put the word out to everyone to stop putting the memorial up. Its time to let it go.

It is different. The chicken pieces will eventually decompose and become part of nature. The faded mound of Made in China plastic flowers at a memorial will not.
But they are both littering.

Yes or no, it doesn’t matter in this context.
Littler is litter. Plastic non- biodegradable litter like fake flowers and solar lights are the worst offenders.

These signs remind me that life is precious and quickly lost. Sobering and uncomfortable, but I'm thankful every time I pass them that their pain isn't my own- though I do contemplate it and share in it for a mile or two.
I think it’s fine that you see value in them but that still does not give someone the right to put them up on property that is not theirs. It’s similar to graffiti artists. If you get approval to put it up, have at it. And maybe the ones you’re referencing did.

Nah, you worry too much. Keep your eyes on the road and it'll be like they aren't even there.
How many wrecks have you been in?

I remember seeing such roadside memorials to Jayne Mansfield in multiple places on the way from NOLA to Bay St Louis. I think they are down to only one and it is in the correct location for a change.
