They only bother me because they are a distraction to drivers, which seems to be counterproductive considering their purpose.

I get the sentiment but oftentimes these people died through negligent/reckless driving or even DUI. That’s not something to commemorate.

Yeah they want continued attention to their lost loved one. Sad but just move on

This is what you're worried about as one of our largest cities burn?

Being permissive on small things like this is exactly how we got to the point where people feel comfortable to riot

While someone is saying ‘We have bigger issues to worry about’ 1000 small issues are eroding the ground beneath his feet.

Agreed. Should be part of the right-of-way contractor’s responsibility to dispose of it when mowing.

Why do you care how family memorializes their loved one, does it hinder your driving? Idiot found

I don't understand it, but they have done it on my in-laws land. They leave it up and let people grieve.

There are a few on the Calcasieu Lake in the water right on Lakeshore Drive. They look like shite in an otherwise decent view

Is there still a memorial on 61 south of Gonzales? The girl who was killed was a friend of a friend and several times I saw her dad out there cutting a small section of the grass and putting fresh flowers out. I always felt for the grief that poor man must have endured and I would imagine he got some comfort from keeping the site where she died up. To this day it chokes me up to think about him out there week after week year after year.

But leave it up for 1 year. Then that’s it.

Do this and after that the state should put up an official marker with possibly the name and age of the person that died. Serves both as a memorial and a reminder to people driving that maybe you should put up your phone because people do die out here. I would be pretty sobering to see a marker with kids ages on them.

I recently thought about this. What happens if it’s placed on your property. I wouldn’t want that.

That’s a big reach right there.

I know people who have lost loved ones and they did this. If it helps them in their grieving process then I’m all for it, and none of started any riots.
