That’s awesome. I’m sure your dad is the man. Do you think that should best the standard practice for first time home buyers? Buy the shell of a house and have your friends help you build it out?

I’m a libertarian and would never vote for socialism; I can also acknowledge that kids these days have a harder time buying a house than kids did decades ago. They aren’t mutually exclusive.

First home was bought after being married for almost year saving with dual income. Had to commute 1 hr because could not afford anything closer in Charlotte at the time. Wife and I were both making around $40k….which is just shy of $20/hr. My teenage son makes that now with his PT job.
And this was when the expectation was to be suited up and in the office every day.
