He didn’t kill it so he called DNR. The DNR came out and took it to a rescue and rehab facility
This is actually the correct answer.

Do not stop. But I have to think the odds of hitting an eagle with a vehicle are extremely low. Unless the Eagle has mental problems.

I thought this was a golfing question

#MeToo
I remember it like it was yesterday. We went up to the green and, not seeing the ball, I started scanning around the fringe thinking, "I couldn't have overshot by much..." My partner had walked up to the flag and said, "Pinnacle?"
It was in the hole (TWSS).

Had a semi hit one that was eating on some road kill right at my exit in Pesrl River county MS few years back. Local PD called wlf and they brought it to my taxidermist buddy in town. He had apparently delta with some prior and dealt with the feathers for some Indian tribes, so WLf not being 100% what to do with it just brought it to him for the time being. I was over there picking uo a deer and just talking with him when he mentioned it and showed it to me. I've seen tons of them in the wild, very close, but had no idea how truly large they are till seeing thay one in the freezer

If this happens, you should immediately be shipped to either Russia or China.

But if you happen upon an injured bird, you call your local rehabber.
For me, that is Wings of Hope in Livingston. I have brought a Sharp-shinned Hawk and an Eastern Screech Owl (that I rescued at different times from injuries not caused by me or my vehicle.) In each case, the bird was treated, rehabbed and released.
US Fish and Wildlife Service has a rescue list and Birdrescue.org is another.

It’s not hard. You just got to lead em. I find bb or even bbb works good on eagles.

I know someone that killed one. He got fined $100,000 and went to prison. Not jail, prison.

Call it in to report it. shite happens.
About 20 years ago I caught an eagle in a foot hole trap set for raccoons. Same thing. Called the DNR. A warden came out to verify it. He threw a blanket over it’s head to calm it down and I released it from the trap. He yanked the blanket and we ran like hell. The bird took off in flight and it was a nothing burger.
It’s an incidental. Similar to fishing for panfish and an out of season gamefish bites and you catch it. You simply release them. Eagles are slightly different because in the trapping situation, the warden wasn’t as concerned about anything else besides checking to see if it had a band on its leg and releasing it safely.

Hit a beautiful drive down the fairway once on a Par 5 and from the middle of the fairway grabbed 3 iron and I was about 170 to the pin. Caught it nice and wound up about 7 feet from the hole. Then I sank the put and that is how I hit an eagle.

It's rare, but you can do it with practice. I had one back during my playing days on a par 5

There are only 5 ways to hit an Eagle.
Hole in one on par 3
Drive par 4 & make the putt
On par 5 in 2 and make the putt
Hole out par 4 on 2nd shot
Hole out par 5 on 3rd shot.
I’ve done each one time.
