I was just up that way visiting Banff and jasper national parks. The weather feels so amazing. Got back yesterday, sure did suck to leave that nice weather behind.

Except for the College Football Hall of Fame, that city is an absolute shite hole. A 100 degree day must beyond disgusting. Like a giant smoldering turd.
Lol
I assume you don’t live in Louisiana

Last summer in Atlanta was one of the nicest ones in a long time. The crazy heat stayed way to our west.
I had family come in from NOLA and Texas for a couple of weeks last August just to escape the heat.
They were in disbelief how much cooler it was here. We could comfortably eat lunch and dinner outside.
Most summers, Atlanta is 10+ degrees cooler than NOLA, Houston and Dallas every day. The 1,000 feet of elevation doesn’t hurt.

LOL.
I'm not a climate truther. Far from it. Go look at my post history.
I was more looking forward to vacation in the Canadian Rockies next weekend and getting a break from the heat for a week

This is correct. 8 out of 10 years this is true. We are in the 1 or 2 years that is hotter than normal. Highs in the mid-upper 90's as opposed to upper 80's-low 90's

You missed the jist of my post. But that's not surprising coming from you.
And I've lived here almost my entire life. I know it can hit 99/100 here, it just doesn't happen very often.

We are driving through Banff on Saturday to get over to Golden, BC where we are staying for the bulk of our trip. Can't wait. The pictures are amazing!
We are doing the Icefields Parkway on the way back to Calgary.

Calgary
They pronounce it “calgree”, like it’s one syllable.
Visitors usually pronounce it “cal-GARE-eee”.
It’s like when someone says New OR-LEANZ.

How did Atlanta not hit 100 last summer?
I'm not sure it hit 100 here in Central Alabama last year either.
But, we got to 100 this week

I’m not directing that at you. I’m directing this at the hundreds of threads of people saying it’s never been this hot and how the media has no problem lying straight to your face.

We were due for a hotter than average summer. Like I said earlier about twice a decade it gets this hot. And it's been 5 years since it's been this hot consistently. 2019 we hit the 90's into October. Atlanta/North Georgia doesn't hit 100 a lot.
Not sure why this is getting DV’s, it’s true.
We moved to GA in 2006, either 07 or 08 (can’t remember which) was absolutely brutal with 100 degree heat indexes. And 2019 was hot and dry for a long time. First time I remember the county really enforcing watering restrictions.
This year’s oppressive heat is a little early but feels about the same as those years as I remember them.
