Of course they’re illegal. Sounds like the owner is an inexperienced landlord and rented it to the first people who waved a bunch of cash in his face. Probably got tired of making the payment without any income from the house. I always have a bunch trying to rent from me but for a number of reasons I don’t deal with them. Mainly because they’re illegal, their income is hard to verify and I can’t stand when they barely speak English. Screw that! They’re good at lying and faking docs too. But I don’t deal with them mainly because they’re illegal and they should GTFO!! And I’m racist as hell!

similar experience. years ago the house across the street had 6-10 mexican dudes in it. all worked for the same home builder. they were making good money and saving by bunking 4-5 deep in the 2 bedrooms. every couple weeks the mormons would come by and bring them some food supplies. they'd always invite us over for the fiesta that ensued. food was off the charts.

That's what these guys were doing. They didn't have very much furniture and most of them were sleeping on the floor. There was a bit of a language barrier but they were a fun group of dudes. They had some salsa out and I was eating it and they were all watching expectantly to see if it would be too spicy for me. They all cheered when I gave the thumbs up and had more. They were always happy and having a good time when they weren't working.

You live in a neighborhood where Poors and Nons can afford to live. What will happen is eventually the one neighbor will be like LGTF out of here before they take over and property values drop and another will move in and so on and so on.
My advice is beat everyone to the punch, GTFO and move somewhere Poors and Nons can’t afford. Because something is going down besides your property values sooner or later, and your kids and wife deserve better.

She could be an introvert.
She could be in an abusive relationship.
She could be extremely conservative and have you and the wife painted as swingers.
Who knows man. She clearly wants space and privacy. Give her that and just be on the lookout for anything sketchy.

Totally agree, new neighbors just bought the house next door. Over the course of a week they brought in 5 or 6 of the biggest UHauls you could get and the house ain’t that big. Anyway got home from the store like the third day and the man and wife are in the yard. My wife (no pics) goes over to introduce herself while I’m carrying in the groceries. I didn’t see her for 20 minutes. Not me I’m good!
