Maybe I want some peace and quiet from the shitshow this country has become. I suppose it would be flattering if people decided for me that I was lost.

That's not how this works.

Anytime someone is long overdue you assume it's a lost hiker. Same with airplanes and boats.

This actually seems like a fun way to answer the next time Donna with an extended warranty calls. I wonder if she will help find my body or just hang up.

are you required to give your cell # to some authority before going on a hike? How would the responders have had the cell # to begin with?

Safety protocol

Share your itinerary with a family member or friend.

People even leave an itinerary in their car/rig.

Sounds like they deviated from the plan and their family member or friend called them in missing and shared their number and itinerary.

So no one that knew him tried calling? Did he not try calling for help? Did he not even want help?

I did not read the article.

I think it’s odd that the publication went out of its way to not reveal the sex of the hiker. No fricking way it was a man.

Indeed

All places where you’d expect he or she, him her, his or hers have been replaced by they them their

by adhering to APA MLA etc publishing guidelines they can conceal gender.

The publication referred to the singular lost hiker as “they.” That’s the pronoun used by confused trannies.
