With all those new cheaply built apartments down burbank and the already ghetto apartments there on highland that area is going to be one gigantic ghetto one day soon

Looks like it's starting

The white multi- building apartmentcomplex directly next door has been a cesspool for a loooong time

Yeah I think they're called the Hub and the only thing they're a "hub" for is crime

It’s sad that this isn’t anything out of the ordinary or a somewhat big deal. We live in the middle of a warzone

There’s a homeless encampment by the gas station in the Walmart parking lot as well.

I guess “Highland Plantation” became a little too politically incorrect.

Looks like that gas station is boarded up, and it was just recently remodeled and less sketchy looking.

That gas station has basically become the local “EBT junk food store,” which is telling.

One of my first memories of LSU happened at those apartments next door in the late 90s. Seemed to be a lot of sorority girls living there back then, and I’m sure that percentage has shrunk to almost non existent if any.

Highland Plantation (former Plantation Trace). They even repainted the former old all white to change the plantation home reference.

It’s weird because the Shell directly across the street is totally fine.

There’s also that horrid trash house next to Walgreens.

They’re opening up a smoke/ATM/liquor in the old Tiger Tailoring, which sucks.

Oddly enough, an RE investor could probably buy The Hub, demolish it, and develop it into single family housing and still make a profit. Housing on Highland is expensive.
