I get my pet food there and I’ll only go at 8-9am on a weekday. Once those people start waking up for the day, the place is unbearable.

Like someone else said, the store itself is not bad. Just the people.

Yes - I have yet to see any homeless on Burbank & Gardere

To think someone would be dumb enough to shoot someone in that parking lot on a busy Sunday afternoon is mind blowing, with all the witnesses around and I’m sure the houses on Highland overlooking the Walmart have cameras.

That place has always been dump

I remember once I watched a black dude walk in with a back pack on and load it up from the booze isle then walk out to those shitty apartments next door. Probably why they started locking up most of the booze

Well, I can actually say it could have been me. The dude was shot right next to my car while I was inside.

Damn. The news article made it sound like the victim isn’t going to make it.

Grabbed booze but not deodorant and razor blades. I refuse to shop at places that lock those items up.

Eta: One Sunday i did see a mom use deodorant on her child and then put it back, I left and have never been back.

During the last hurricane this black dude in a nice Cherokee and wife and teenage kids in the back pulled out his dick and started pissing in the parking lot in plain view of me, So I yelled at him that he should go in the wal mart cause I didn't wanna see his dick and then I thought I was gonna have to fight him and his two kids.

I don't know about all that but there is something especially wrong with that area and that wal-mart parking lot.

I shop there all the time when I only need a few items. Maybe it’s the time I go but have never seen anything out of the ordinary.

You must shop in the morning before noon, when the people causing issues are still asleep.

The last couple times I've been, I've seen some rather sketchy cars with totally blacked out windows just chilling away from where all the other cars are. People definitely in them. Then voila, shooting today.
You are free to doubt my judgement. But I'd say I was a pretty good judge of situations and people in general.

Highland Plantation (former Plantation Trace). They even repainted the former old all white to change the plantation home reference.

Did it ever stop being a dump? I remember people calling it Plantation Trash 20 years ago.

Good. People need to be told stuff.

Bad manners and disrespectful to piss in front of people in public. And disgusting and unsanitary.

It woulda been so easy for him to go inside too. For whatever reason dude just decided to take a piss in the parking lot right in front of me. Didn't occur to me till after I said something that I wished I had a gun bc of the reaction it got.

Same, I used it all the time, circa 2012 when I lived in BR while in undergrad. Only issues I ever encountered were aggressive homeless. Now people are being gunned down in the damn parking lot.

I thought that Walmart was a godsend when it opened in the late 2000s when I was in school. Cheaper, quicker, cleaner and less expired food for sale compared with Winn-Dixie.

Yeah - that doesn’t matter - you know how many times I cleaned up piss at the public library bc ppl didn’t want to find the bathroom?? I guess that’s why it’s a pet peeve of mine.
