Hey Mister! (Getting Alcohol)

I was just reminiscing with a high school buddy of mine and we were talking about some of the times we used to "Hey Mister" random people at the gas station to get us alcohol.
Was curious if the OT has any good stories from doing this.
Nothing great ever happened to us other than the occasional guy who would just agree to buy alcohol for us then just leave with our money..

The shell station by the twinspan in Slidell used to sell to us at 16. It was just kinda inconvenient to go out there to buy booze.

Nothing like getting no change and a 10 pack

When I was younger, they never use to leave with my money, but say you gave them twenty dollars for a 12 pack, they were definitely taking the change.

I worked in a restaurant in HS, so there was always a degenerate or gay that was happy to help me and my buddies out.

I did this to an off duty police officer at the Circle K near Sherwood Forest and Florida. He was cool about it. He was an older cop and just laughed at the stupidity of it all. Didn't buy us beer, but also didn't hassle us much. Told us to go home and not to leave the house if we did get beer. That's all I got. We need more police like that guy.

We called it pulling a "Hey [rhythms with Trigger]".

1. Find a panhandler
2. offer a 1-1 deal involving case of beer
3. Profit

Something tells me you didn't pay for the beer with money

We stole it from our parents. We had one friend whose older cousin came to visit from Florida regularly. Always brought us a bottle. Good man

There was a store owned by an Asian guy on the hill (yea that hill) that would sell it to anyone that could see enough over the counter to hand him a 20.

My dad was approached by a couple of 15 or 16-year olds in his first week in the US, almost 40 years ago. Living in a country where you could buy booze at pretty much any age, he was confused and just told them to buy their own beer. He thought they were gay teenagers hitting on him.

I'm surprised you are alive to tell the story.

I never asked a stranger to buy me beer. I did ask my brother once. And for $20 I got a 5 pack of natty lite.

Used to take the bus into downtown and get a homeless guy to buy vodka. They never picked Absolut or even Taaka, it was always Wolfschmidt or Popov.

There was a narc in my HS class that would fake-solicit and turn in unsuspecting would-be buyers to the police.
We all really appreciated his efforts to keep our community safe.

Hey misters were always so painfully awkward for me. Just felt horrible trying to pull that.
I used to do this to get cigarettes. I tried to get some grungy Hispanic guy who had one of those tear drop tattoos to buy me a pack, and he said no. Who knew the dude had ethics.
I also would typically try to ask homeless looking people and offer to pay for them to buy a pack or beer for themselves.

Hey man, I was a poor teenager looking for a buzz.
Seriously though, this one dude was like 40 (I was 16) and he'd always say "give me cash or let me blow you." Sick frick.

My group of friends had plenty of older brothers. Of course, it was legal at 18 back then. They'd sell it to pretty much anyone who looked to be in high school.
