Since there may have been a felony at play here we should tap into the mind of a felon to help us crack this case. Got any ideas SS?

This blows my mind. Who just charges someone's CC for 10k?
my issue would be with the credit card company

The trashiest part of this is that your card has a 10k limit.

Yeah, this sounds like a great idea.
It pretty normal when you have an early bird flight to drop the keys and car off without the place being open yet.

Hertz rental
Found the problem.
Last time I used this scam of a car rental place was landing in Laguardia, and National/Entrerprise was out of cars.
Picked up one from Hertz and told them I needed the EZ pass.
Got ticketed $150 by a bridge tollbooth, which told me the pass was bunk, and that Hertz was running a scam with fake toll passes.
I had them reverse the charges upon return, but still, frick Hertz and their junky arse cars.

I didn’t read this whole thread, but have you been to where the car was dropped off? It is probably still sitting there.

Car dropped off on 6th, was at airport on 16th, was gone on 21st

Since the advent of smart phones, I take images & videos of the vehicle as I’m leaving it.
Pro Tips-In Ireland, due to narrow roads, rental cars get a bunch of tyre, rim, and wheel coverings damage. Take particular care to document that you haven’t damaged any of the wheels when you turn in the car. Windscreens/windshields are a big deal in many places for rental cars to add charges to renters. Carefully check them out when initially getting the car and make the staff note any preexisting damage. Document them as well when turning in the car.

Do you have proof the car was still there on the 16th?
You have a couple of moves here. Call the Olive Branch PD and see if they have a report on a stolen (Whatever car it was you drove). If they do, get a copy and immediatly contact Hertz and tell them that "Even they though it was stolen and charged me anyway". I'm thinking that's fraud right there.
If there is no Police report, claim neglegence on their part because the vehicle was clearly stolen and they were taking the path of least resistance in fulfilling their job.

I was in contact with rental location in BR (he said he would escalate to regional GM),
The last thing you want to do is let some lower tier flunky manage this on your behalf. YOU need the GM's direct extension and YOU need to very quickly make this his number one priority. Find out who and where he is and immediatly inform him what has happened. He's going to say "Ok, let me look into it". Tell him, "Fine, I'll call back in two hours to see where we're at in resolving this".
Once he knows that you aren't going to let this go, you'll get satisifaction. Constantly try to escalate this issue. Keep moving up the latter every chance you get.
