Ochsner Hospital main campus now has a big "heroes work here" display in front of the building.

No. Not at all. Not a single "hero" works for pay in that building. Assuming the display is related to the Covid 19 virus, less than 1% of the people who work there deal with it. And a big chunk of that activity is outside the hospital, where Ochsner employees are being paid to fulfill their job description.

The part that is inside the hospital is a restricted ICU which is staffed with Ochsner employees or other providers who are getting paid to deal with a bad flu. You know, people who chose and went to school and sought employment with or in a private business which is a hospital which treats sick people.

I'm sick of the cheapening of "hero". Nobody in the building said "hey, I'm going to put myself at grave risk when I don't have to in order to save others". Ridiculous.

I, for one, am thankful for well-trained and competent doctors.

Well, they say the first step to healing is recognizing you have a problem. So you have that going for you.

So am I. And none of them dealing with this have done anything to reach "hero" status. They are doing exactly what they went to school for, chose to do, and are being paid to do. and not a single solitary one of them has put their life at risk for others, nor will they.

What's your definition? Maybe mine's different.

Why don’t you walk in to that hospital or the Slidell ones that had the exact same signs, and tell the first nurse you see how you feel.

Get back to to video games and have your grandma get you another grape soda

I hope to god you never have to be treated by one of these heroes. If you really believe less then 1% of hospital employees are dealing directly with COVID 19, then you are highly uneducated on the subject. The entire hospital system, city, state, nation, and worldwide economy is affected by this. Once again, please do not step foot in this building where so called heroes work if you become sick.
