The average OT baller will be paying ~40%. Not too bad I guess.

How will the country continue and where will the government's money come from? The government wants more educated taxpayers. You're arguement really has no end game here and nobody is going to change their mind so this is really pointless.

Keeping more of your earnings can kill you, or so I'm told.

this is the government bribing people to get married, get a mortgage, become stable citizens, etc

a stable society is important, it makes predictions and forecasting the future easier

now the EITC being expanded? that is the government bribing low income people to have more kids, and that is something I do not like about this tax bill

The standard deduction is actually doubling I believe. I'm not sure how itemized deductions will be handled.

This tax bill has already killed 2 of my family members. I don't know how much longer I'll make it...

Insurance should be catastrophic only. It's stupid to pay ungodly premiums for services you don't use.

Regular doctor visits should be out of pocket. It's cheaper, quicker, and easier for both the doctor and patient to deal in cash at the time of service. Save insurance for major events and hospitalizations.

I can find you plenty of reports that disagree with that. Every single one of these "reports" are partisan and have biases one way or the other.

You mean add more debt that they bitched at Obama for 8 years about? This is just another hand out for the wealthy. Lulz at anyone who thinks corporations will do anything with that money they get back except in some rare we suck so let's get good Press cases.

You can still itemize but far fewer people will need to.

Eh. Insurance has done me a solid when it comes to a chronic condition (endometriosis) that can have complications like webbing to my vital organs. Hardly "catastrophic", but enough that I certainly couldn't afford the surgery I had out of pocket plus regular visits to a specialist.

My argument is fairly simple.

People who have kids, shouldn't get tax credits for them.

Kids produce zero GDP for at least 15 years and it's not a given they actually produce thereafter.

It's not a preposterous idea to want to be taxed equally.

But cutting the corporate rate you give individuals a decent facto cut because coroors earnings are double taxed when distributed to shareholders. That is before factoring in any increased speeding by corps from having more cash.

tax breaks don't add to the debt

spending adds to the debt

we will see if we have spending cuts coming, although I have my doubts

Yea I bet At&t wont hand out $1k bonuses to 200,000 employees. Comcast and Beoing won't do the same either. And 2 of the largest banks in America definitely won't raise their minimum wage to $15. None of that will happen. I'm sure of it

Why do you hate that nearly all Americans will get to keep more of the money THEY EARN AT THEIR JOBS?

My point is if that happened your taxes would just go up because the government would have to provide services to more people. Families can't afford to pay at the rate you do. More families would get government assistance and spend less so it just wouldn't work.

Well obviously nothing works for everyone. However, this is where HSAs come in. If most people could take all the money they've thrown away in premiums and put it in an HSA they'd have a sizeable chunk of change.

Certainly there are some folks who require greater medical resources, but paying for that burden shouldn't fall on the backs of healthy individuals who do not use any of the services they're required to pay so much for.
