re: Here's the list of Louisiana businesses that will receive at least $150,000 in PPP loans

Missed out might be the wrong wording, couldn't get the assistance required is probably more accurate.

What does that even mean? They’ve had three full months (and another 4 weeks remaining). Just how much assistance is needed at this point?

What’s wrong with a low interest loan? If we used the PPP within the guidelines it’s forgiven and we still get to keep our employees and pay the bills. If we don’t we’ll have to pay it back with interest.
The problem is you’re making it out to be one of two outcomes - either someone needs the money to keep employees and it’s forgiven, or they use it for something else and pay it back. But you’re leaving out the third option, which is someone isn’t dealing with business disruption but still gets the loan forgiven.
And before you go “that can’t happen!” see the post in this thread bragging about getting $1.2MM when business is up year over year, and expecting it to be forgiven.
If you want to say “don’t blame the business, blame Congress” that’s fine. As long as you feel the same way about welfare and unemployment. Many of the people saying they don’t understand why people are mad at businesses are the same folks bitching about people not going back to work because they’re collecting an extra $600 in unemployment.
Many of us feel like the whole thing is fricked, and calling out businesses that took a windfall handout without a real need =/= absolving Congress of their sin offering said handout in the first place.
Again, if you think the greater economic benefits outweigh the cost then make that argument. But don’t play dumb and act like you don’t know what anyone is talking about.

bullshite. There is still money available and they extended the deadline another 5 weeks from 6/30.
Good luck finding a bank that is still accepting applications.

I think the blame lies with the govt for not forcing businesses to prove that they couldn’t pay employees without the loan.
Open that door, and you deserve what comes in.

Is the rouge report on that list?

I got right at 1.2m, and I will definitely be following all the rules to have the loan forgiven. Even if I didn't, where else can you get money at 1%?
We actually did better in the 1st half of 20 than we did in 19, but it was nice having the feds pay the majority of our payroll for awhile.
Bonuses for 2020 will be nice.
Do you even feel a little bit like shite? I've always wondered how people feel that take a big settlement for a false claim and wonder if deep inside, it feels kinda shitty to them because they know what they did was wrong. Or, are you just a financial sociopath? You know you didn't need it, our country is ran by idiots, and you put your handout for $1.2 million. I'm not even trying to be a hypocrite, I may have done the same thing but I do know I've turned down a couple of events that could have forced a insurance settlement but I didn't pursue it because it wasn't right but maybe I'd feel different about this scenario. I hope not though. I hope I'm a better person that a welfare queen or people that sue for a million bucks because a big rig scratched their fender and they went to chiro and scam artist docs. I hope I wouldn't do what you are bragging about.
Huh. I wish I knew what I'd do in your shoes. Hopefully not the same as you.

Trying to make a business owner (who’s likely paid millions of dollars toward the government) feel guilty about actually getting a benefit back from said government. That’s low and reeks of misplaced anger or jealousy or both. This country shells out trillions for foreign aid and military spending every single year but one time - amidst a global pandemic affecting nearly every sector of the economy - they actually dump some money domestically, and it’s a sin for people to take advantage. Reassess your priorities, I can tell by your references to “welfare queens” you probably cheer on Raytheon getting a nine-figure deal while bitching about a mother of five buying prepared food with food stamps.

Perhaps. It could very well be hidden envy. But if it is, then it's really hidden because I don't feel like i'm envious.

Correct, Assuming the mother had a choice in being a single mother of 5. If she had 5 children by the same man (or even multiple) but married and he left, I feel sorry for her. If she just spread her legs for every hard dick that wanted some with no attempt at birth control, then yes, I'm bitching about her. These woman have a choice in who they frick and if they're intelligent enough to know how babies are made then they should have been intelligent enough to know that they have to eat and food cost money and money must be EARNED. frick her. I feel bad for the kids but that rotten bitch is a dreg on society and statistics show that her kids will probably be in same predicament as her in 15 years.

No one should have any issue with a business that qualified for the loan taking it.
My problem is I personally know 3-4 companies listed , one for sure was going broke and has 2 employees.
My friends X wife and her F buddie - They took between 350k -1 million stating they have 25 employees which is horse shite. This money will go to pay for her $500,000 home and the new escalade the boyfriend bought her, oh and her new tits/plastic surgery.

Yep but it's worse than welfare. It actually is exactly welfare, but it's worse because these people are assumedly not in poverty.
I believe it amounts to legalized theft.

This will get caught. Hell, you could expedite the process and likely get a portion of the recovery as a whistle blower.
The line in the sand seems to be being drawn at $150,000. If they borrowed more than that based on a fraudulent application, particularly over stating the number of employees, I feel pretty certain it will come to light. It isn’t as if the Fed gov doesn’t have their payroll tax filings....which they would have had to alter for this supposed fraudulent PPP loan.

If you have evidence or really know for a fact they have committed fraud, you should be a whistleblower as you can share in any recovery.

To the folks that applied for this money: Did you know this list would be published and made public when you applied?
Posted on 7/9/20 at 9:08 am to FormalGreenWizard
the number of churches on the list is embarrassing..Religion is a very good business to be in I guess. Did that idiot pastor in Central get any money I wonder?
Posted on 7/9/20 at 9:08 am to White Bear
I found a customer on the list that is refusing to pay a bill, was just told they can’t make payments due to laying off almost all of their employees
I’m fricking pissed

Not on the list bc I’m didn’t get over the 150 but I assumed mine along with all other recipients that it would be publicly available as it’s a government program and subject to FOIA rules
