Like what? and South LA isn't shite anymore in the retail crawfish market compared to Texas

Stop, and think what really motivates people to consume swamp scavengers. It ain't the taste. It's psychologically bombarded on you to eat...water cockroaches. Boiled in enough seasoning to make Frank Costanza cry.

I've been hearing this claim my entire life growing up but yet all farmers have kids in private schools, big home, 75K dollar trucks.

How many of those "farmers" pay taxes on crawfish they sell? It's strictly a cash business and a laundering operation. The government has no idea how much crawfish are sold. Prices are determined by those clowns in Pierre Part you see on tv. Never in my life have I seen excuse after excuse.

I mean, I know guys that won't even report those acres to FSA when they are in crawfish because they "don't want them to know".

Not saying it's the norm, but I would bet that's not just because they just don't feel like it.

And yet, some of those same guys were walking in those doors looking for the COVID payments.

A very Southern or really more Appalachian version of the idiom stubbed. Your toe may be stove up after you stumped it.

I’m sure the guys that sell some to the public will get cash but I bet 90% of the crawfish sold is through a wholesaler which means you get paid in a check form so your theory of a cash business is silly. Like someone said this isn’t 1998. A lot of y’all are uneducated on the Crawfish industry

Most guys crawfish because that's the only way they are profitable on a rice farm.

So all the rice acreage in Arkansas is unprofitable? How do those farmers make it without fishing and subsidies?

That would suck. It's really the only thing the state has going for it.

You can eat ribeye for less than that.
I only eat swamp crawfish when they come into season.
When did we start eating crawfish in january?
