My wife really wants to buy that house that’s for sale on Audubon right of Fontainebleau

Is owning a $450k house now considered rich?

he said he got it on the cheap from a family member. I bought my last house in the same manner from my grandfathers estate. Right near lakeshore playground. After gifts of equity from my aunts and uncles, I paid $135k. Put $40k into it and sold it for $300k. What he is saying is not unrealistic

If it’s the house I’m thinking of that house seems like it’s been bought and sold like 5 times over the past 10 years.

That's just stupid.
There is a normal middle class of both whites and blacks.

You know what they say about new Orleans, right?

You can't think of new Orleans as one of the most dangerous cities in America. You have to think of it as the safest country in the Caribbean.

Literally no one says that.

Broadmoor is a textbook example of one of those neighborhoods in New Orleans where you see stately homes with nice landscaping and two-car garages on one block, and then the next block is lined with run-down rental properties.

There are some very nice houses along Fontainebleau closer to Carrollton; some of the nicest ones in the city. But, then as you get closer to Earhart/Washington, it all of the sudden gets pretty seedy.

Also, the area is very flood-prone.

This is true, however it’s much better than the run down crack houses in Central City and Hollygrove

Yes, Broadmoor is the lowest part of the city. It’s pretty much the center of the bowl and flood insurance rates are ridiculous

What people don't want to do is pay grotesque amounts of money to live in one of the few 3rd world cultures that reside inside US border
Obviously this is wrong because we wouldn’t be talking about housing costs. The demand is there or the market wouldn’t allow those prices.

If I were to move to Nola one day, I think I would like to live in Lake Vista. That whole area from West End almost to UNO on that side of Robert E. Lee seems so nice and quite. And the streets all appear to be in pretty good shape as well.

Probably a lot of older people living there so a lot of homes will be coming on the market in the next 10 years.

I would live in that area in a heartbeat. That’s one of the nicest quietest area in the city.

Good luck finding an affordable house, people there don’t sell and if they do it happens so fast you’d never know unless you watch the market every single day. Some houses never even hit the market in Lake Vista.

Love that area, but it’s pricing is pretty close to uptown. Last I looked everything is $500k+ and if anything comes up under $500k a bidding war ensures

All it needs is another $500k then you have yourself a nice home in a great part of town.
